ADHD

Hi everyone! So as of today i was diagnosed with ADHD, which makes so much sense because I have been dealing with binge eating since i was 14(I am now 18). I began a glp to help with my compulsive eating but that made all my hair fall out and I absolutely love my hair, so i stopped taking it. I have been on streaks where I stopped binging but I always seem to go back to that action. I can’t even focus on my school work anymore because I am constantly thinking about food or hyperfixating about how to fix it. I don’t want to take medication for it because I know that it causes hair loss as well and I am very susceptible to it. I was hoping for some tips and stories from anyone who has overcome binge eating and food noise caused by ADHD. I want to finally love my body and lose at least just 10 pounds but i’m really spiraling because I knew this disorder wasn’t just a lack of willpower. Pls give me some hope!!

Stop focusing on not binging

So I am wondering if anyone has had success with just not caring anymore. Just stop focusing on trying not to binge and stop counting days your binge free because that shifts your focus to only thinking about binge eating. Finding other hobbies and things that make you happy. Im starting to think that is the key to overcoming this, but I also find myself with pretty bad food noise. The urges aren’t as bad but i start to overthink the food noise and get anxious. I also want to eventually slim down but Im scared that the day i try to start that I will binge. My biggest fear is gaining weight again so im wondering if anyone has had success with not hyperfixating about stopping binge eating

tall women

Hi fellow tall girls, i’m wondering how many calories you eat a day to maintain? i am a 5’11 women and i eat anywhere from 2000-2500 a day. I want to start losing weight slowly so im not sure what number to start at and would like some insight on what you guys eat to maintain. I also weight lift and do cardio at least 4x a week as well as play club volleyball.

I am trying to consistently eat 2100 calories but it doesn’t seem like my weight is going down. I do suffer from binge eating so i’m trying not to focus to much on the calories but i would love some feed back!

I lost about 10 pounds 3 months ago in about 3 weeks. Is it possible that small amount of weight loss can cause hair shedding. I’m scared to keep trying to lose weight if it causes hair loss. I also gained the weight back so that’s why i’m pissed. I’m 5’11(F) 160 so I don’t know if i’m just not meant to be skinnier and trying to lose anymore will trigger hair shedding. I have also been on a glp this entire time so i’m not sure if that is contributing.

How much weight loss causes hair loss? Bc every-time I look it up it says large amounts of weight loss. I have gotten vitamins checked and everything is normal except ferritin is a little low (33) But i feel like that’s not the reason.

Okay so i have been on a glp-1 for about 6 months and it has done absolute wonders for my binge eating. I rarely think about food and eat when I am hungry. The big problem I have is my hair is falling out in chunks. I’m only using this for food noise and only fluctuate 10 pounds. Have any of y’all dealt with this? Do you think it’s worth it to stay on the med and be bald?

Wondering for those of you on a maintinence dose, dose your weight fluctuate a lot. Like sometimes i can rapidly lose 8 pounds in 3 weeks from low appetite and then I gain it back pretty quickly. Is that normal or should i focus on my nutrition more. I’m getting some side effect like fatigue and hair loss.

I am very worried… I have been taking 2.5mg since mid October and started shedding a little more beginning of march. Shedding is terrible now like literal rat sized chunks of hair coming out. Did anyone who has suffered hair loss with minimal weight loss stop the shedding without stopping the medication? I’ve only fluctuated 10 pounds so It’s not rapid weight loss. I also started minoxidil a month ago because I went through TE last year and it helped me gain density back. My main question is does the hair loss stop even if i continue the medication?

I’ve been using minoxidil on the top and sides of my head, but i’m also shedding really bad at my crown and the nape of my neck as well?? Is this normal?
