1976: Happy 200th Birthday, America

I was able to dig up the whole collection of photos. This is my family in DC for the 200th celebration in 1976. My grandmother made matching blazers for the whole crew. She was a Depression era gal who knew how to do such things. I came along a few years after these epic photos.

Double Role Playing

So I'm working on a new character for Edge of the Empire. I'm going to play the character as if I am the character in all my interactions with my friends at the table (as much as I can remember to do so).

Also, my new character has a hidden backstory that the other players will have to uncover and pull out of me as they earn my trust. My GM knows the character's real backstory, but everyone else is only getting the cover story.

I'm excited to give this a try.

First Session a Rousing Success!

Hey Yall! I just led my first session of Edge of the Empire's Long Arm of the Hutt. I had a guided GM session to take us through the starter box and now I am doing my very first GM job taking my crew through the continuation of the adventure via Long Arm of the Hutt. Everyone had a great time! I'm pumped for our second session.

As a beginning GM, what tips would you suggest?

Foggy CVN 70 at Sunrise

I snagged this picture of the USS Carl Vinson in Bremerton one foggy Saturday summer morning.

My Painted Squad

Here's my painted squad so far. I'm really happy with the AT-STs.

Vader is painted with some airbrushed color changing paints.

I use small tumbled glass bits to differentiate the units from one another. AND the number of glass bits is the units number (1/3, 2/3, ect.).

F-104B Custom Kit

Based on the Kinetic K48083 TF-104G, I build an F-104B in the style of my grandfather's jet. He was rhe crewchief for this particular aircraft. I presented it to him in 2023 a d inherited the kit after his passing. I had to repair the landing gear, which had broken. I took the opportunity to add a memorial plaque commemorating his service.

I hope you like it. He was thrilled to receive it.

F-104B Custom Kit

My grandfather was a crew chief at Larsen AFB in 1958. This is his airplane. Notice his name on the side. I built a model of it for him in 2023. He passed away recently and I reconditioned the kit and added a memorial plaque. I hope you enjoy it. I have a ton more pictures of the details, if you're curious. Just drop a comment and I'll post them.

Note: the kit is Kinetic K48083, TF-104G, nodded in the spirit of the B. Only 26 B's were ever made.

What Should I Create?

So I was tearing up the box my JBL Flip7 portable speaker came in and pulled out this amazing insert. What should I make from it? Shield generator, semi-buried tank, or ...?
