What's happening to my dwarf ivy?

The new growth on my Hedera helix 'Abundance' (micro dwarf) started browning and dying off. I generally don't let the soil dry out completely and it's in a somewhat shady outdoor area. I hosed it down and sprayed with both insecticidal soap and fungicide as a precaution, but it hasn't improved.

There are a handful of these growing on my property in Oakland (Bay Area). They don't look particularly native, but they also don't look like most invasives I've seen here.

Just got this guy last month, will it be okay in the long-term in this medium? Worried about drainage (seems like standard nursery mix) but I don't want to damage the roots.

Is this situation sustainable? How should I proceed with repotting? The soil it was sold in seems to organic but I don't want to damage the roots.

It seems to currently be doing okay but not sure about the longevity of this setup.
