Didn't know woodpeckers were so feisty!
I finally got my first downy woodpecker to visit my feeder! But it picked a fight with a house sparrow 😂

My mission this summer was to attract a hummingbird. I planted flowers specifically for them. Had a feeder out.
It was end of July - no action.
I look outside one day and see this little girl going to my salvias. I cried happy tears. I couldn't believe my eyes.
I quickly put back my feeder outside and she has now been coming all the time.
I work from home and work outside the entire day and she comes at least 15x a day.
She has come up to my face, squeaked at me. We've built such a special bond.
We are approaching end of summer and I am getting so sad at the thought I won't see her again. She has to make such a long journey back home alone. I hope she comes back next year.
Anyone else get this attached to their hummingbirds?
I have been dealing with ongoing harassment from my neighbor for the past few years.
Basically he's upset about my downspout location, even though I moved in 5 years ago and it's always been in the same spot, draining toward the street.
In the past he's taken pictures of the front of my house (probably due to my gutter), has been caught standing at the end of the street staring at my house. Sent companies to my house to speak to me.
Since then I've installed security cameras point at my driveway (not at his house or windows).
Well today he has a company come and install a security camera on the side of the house pointing at my house, where my two bathroom windows are. They're frosted but I still open them frequently and at night you can definitely still see a bit.
I feel so uncomfortable. In the past the police said I can't file for harassment, but do you think this now crosses the line?
I have suffered from dry dull skin all my life.
Two years ago I decided to take skincare more seriously. I will be 31 soon.
My routine:
Morning:
Tirtir Milky Toner
Illiyoon Moisturizer
La Roche Pose Spf
Night:
Skinfix skin barrier cleanser
Tretinoin
Illiyoon Moisturizer
I tried using cicaplast, Vaseline but it's just too heavy for me and caused so much irritation. This simple routine helped me so much. I also have been loving squalane oil during the winter months. My skin is not perfect, but I am really happy with it.
I've been using tret for two years now. One side of my cheek that I sleep on is usually a bit more pink than my other side. I ended up developing a stye in my eye and spent a week doing hot compresses at night then applying my tret, well I think I created a mess with the heat and tret. For the past month, it was so so red filled with irritation bumps. It's gotten much better but I still have lots of pinkness left. Cicaplast made my face more pink so all I apply is just Illiyoon light layer plus SPF if it's daytime. I keep tret away from that entire area. Anyone have any experience to help with this irritation?

I found a newborn cottontail, eyes closed, must be a day old. It was just in the middle of my yard. I searched my entire yard three times and can't find any nest. I see the mom coming back.
Last night at 11pm the baby was still in the middle of my yard trying to raise its head, its body started to get cold, so I brought it inside in a box with some heat.
It's now the next day, it survived the night. I saw mom in the yard again. I searched once again for the nest, I found some fur in the yard but no nest.
I decided to build a nest where I found the fur, made a donut shaped hole with hay, put the baby in there covered it with some of the fur I found. I placed twigs in the shape of an X to see if it'll be moved later on.
Do you think the mom will find it? Did I do the right thing?
I want to step up my bird seed game.. I have cardinals that live in my cedar hedges. Everytime they see me outside they come to visit nearby. I would like to give some dried cranberries for them occasionally, but everything I find has added sugar. Once does have added sugar but has added apple juice concentrate. Is that still bad for them? I found dried goji berries without added sugar, would they still like those?
