Is a pass for transit from city to home (like taking the train) free for students?

Free as a part of tuition, like I won’t have to sign up and pay extra for it? Also do I need to do anything to get it? Or is it automatic? Can I use it in the summer?

Is the College of Engineering PREP-ME 2.0 a remedial program?

Title, I want smth to do this summer that would help me and is cost free (incoming UIC freshman) and was wondering if this is remedial work or a beneficial summer program for incoming freshman (not hs juniors and such students)

Why is there more matter than anti-matter? Why are positive and negative charges attracted to each other?

Basically the title, why is it that atoms have negatively charged electrons orbiting them? Ik since protons and neutrons have more mass they are the center, I also know anti-matter is a thing (we did learn smth in my astronomy class two years ago about there being one more matter for anti matter after the big bang which made the universe mostly matter)

The question is why are positive and negative charges attracted to each other? Why was there more matter than anti matter? Would the world be the same if anti-matter made up most of the universe?

How to stop anxiety about issues I know I will face?

MAIN POINT: is there a way to reduce anxiety about issues if I know I will have to face them in the future? As saying “it’s only overthinking and won’t happen” isn’t the truth?

INFORMATION:
There are many problems that I know I will have to face in some time, mostly like a year or more later. I also just keep thinking about my future as an incoming college freshman and am getting terrible anxiety from the fear of not doing good enough or the possibility of not making any friends.

Most of the issues I worry about, honest truth is that they are problems I know I will have to face or possibly will have to face. But it’s really stressful and aren’t all small issues like “I won’t make friends.” I can’t stop thinking about them while simultaneously trying to handle studying for finals and trying to prepare, filling out forms for college.

It’s my last year so I also wanna hang out with friends and they all seem so much better off and happier than me :( all this stress made me even get a grey hair and I’m only 17.

This hp laptop does not seem to be there on the Hp official page?

Am I just dumb and can’t find it or is this an Amazon seller that changed up the laptop? I wanted this laptop and reviews are all good so even if they changed it would it be a bad idea getting it? Also the stuff they have in their own specifications are different than if you scroll down to Amazon product specifications. (Very small stuff like 3.95 pounds instead of 4)

Is this a good laptop for chemical engineering?

I would prolly use the touch screen stuff cuz I like notes online sometimes. I was wondering if this was a good laptop for engineering software, chemical engineering specifically. I also wanna run games like cyber punk or re4 or requiem.

I feel like I’ve failed :(

I didn’t get into my dream school, my GPA and school activities are mediocre, I didn’t get any big awards or scholarships, really nothing at all. Now I’ll be graduating, others are getting recognized for their excellence. But I’m just there. I really hope I do better in college, I wanna be different.

Im also scared I won’t have any friends in college or that my current friends will stop taking to me. I want a social life :( but my school is apparently not very social and I also feel like maybe I’ll fail to make the friends needed to have fun and stuff.

When you were in college (for chem Eng) did you use a lot heavier auto CAD?

I’m an incoming freshman for chemical engineering and was wondering what kind of laptop I should get. Like if I should get one that’s on the high end for heavy graphics software or mid end?

Some of the expensive high end engineering laptops seem to be recommended for engineers in general or mechE and I was wondering if the same recommendations would apply to me as any other engineering laptop?

Like if I come to UIC, take chem 123 (or skip it and take the next one if I get the ap chem exam credits) could I lock in? I heard it’s hard at UIC. At the same time I heard Ap chem was hard but it was okay…I also don’t wanna compare a hs version of a college class to the real thing yk. So any thoughts?

Also any tips to staying on task and not failing classes? I’m an incoming freshman. I will be taking chem Eng which is engineering, math and chemistry heavy. Thanks!

I keep getting around 77% before revising everything I got wrong and then I will do a full length one. 1.5-1 min per question pace. How accurate are the progress checks in difficulty? Because they feel a bit easier than my teachers exams.

Are these recs even good? I’m doing chem e for college and wanted a laptop that can run engineering software and one where I can games in my free time. (I asked Claude)

Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase.
800-1000$ USD (purchase in USA)

Are you open to refurbs/used?
not unless it’s necessary

How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?
performance, better life, form factor (I like thin and am use to my touch screen school Chromebook but it’s not insanely important)
How important is weight and thinness to you?
-fill here, remove dashes-

Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.
N/A
Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.
rn I know I should do MATLAB, CAD and Blender. I haven’t started school yet so idk all.

If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?

for games I wanna play newer Resident evil, cyberpunk, HSR, Genshin ect like story based games with relatively high graphics. Idk about FPS and graphics and I haven’t had a real laptop before. Just smth that won’t make me mad and quit cuz I’m moving at 2fps and it takes 10 min to load each map.

Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?
idk about this, I ask for recs cuz idk much about laptops.
Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.

This laptop was in a list of good engineering laptops so 1) is it actually good? 2) is it trustable buying used? I’m an incoming freshman and wanted a decent engineering laptop for chem e.

I’m chem e major so I can’t do CLEP and I don’t have AP credit. I might do a summer CC course but it’s expensive. Anyone know an online one? ALSO any way to skip Eng 161 credit? I think I have 160 from my SAT plus I’m taking lang and took lit.
