A slice of life in the Australian wintertime.
I went for a walk around the wetlands and noticed this very friendly and curious Mudkip following me around. He is a Bandai brand Mudkip from the Pokemon Advanced line.

This was before customisation was a thing. Their username possibly had the word Tree in it, or it was the name they displayed on their userlookup.
All of their 4 pets were painted brown.
They had custom HTML for their userlookup and it was brown, and white I think.
If I had to guess, I saw them on the Neoboards around 2005.
I just remember being fascinated by how much they proclaimed to love the colour brown, and to this day, I think of them and also appreciate the colour brown.
Although I took these photos only the other day using my 2DS, they feel like memories straight from growing up and running around my local streets. :)
After much tinkering, I am so happy with my phone layout! I wanted to keep it fairly simple and easy to manage, so I could help other people do the same thing, because screw gatekeeping and it brings me so much joy to share my Frutiger Aero discoveries. Even if you're terrible at technology, I guarantee this guide is super easy to follow. It's lengthy because it's dummy proof.
You can do this all for free!
For anyone else who would like to customise their modern Samsung Galaxy the same way, here's what I have done:
🌏CUSTOM ICONS🌏
🔹 On Google Play, download X Icon Changer by Aster Play.
🔹 The app is easy to use and doesn't need explaining. Just download pictures online of icons you like, and use the app to change your icons on your home page. I sourced my icons from all over the internet and even made some of them (like the vegan and Neopets one). You can simply do this in paint, by selecting the image and then clicking remove background, to make a transparent PNG.
🔹 There will be multiple video ads you have to sit through, but once you've done that and unlocked the ability to change icons, by going to Change Icon > photo > gallery, you won't get video ads anymore and changing icons after your first one or few will be simple and quick! Alternatively, you can pay a few dollars to get rid of ads in the app forever.
🔹 All of my icons, except for Clock and Calendar on page 2, are custom icons. I kept those 2 icons stock so they reflect the current time and date. Custom icons will just be a frozen image after all.

You want to download pictures files, not .ICO files of the icons! These sites have picture files. If you make the mistake of downloading .ICO icons, you can google .ICO to PNG converter and use an online one for free.
I also googled a lot of keywords like Windows Vista, Sony Xperia, Windows 7, old Android and old iPhone icons.
If anyone would like, I would be happy to upload a file of all my own icons.

🔹 It's also simple to use and ad free. Some widgets can be customised to add different colours, and different levels of transparency and frost, and some come as they are. So play around and see what ones you like.
🔹 The widgets are fully functional. You may need to wait 30 mins or so like me, for the widgets to stop being a plain picture and actually sync up with your media.

🔹 Download Weather Forecast - Rain Radar by Z APPs. This app is also free with ads. It'll have a giant pop up trying to get you to sign up as a subscription but just find the little X in the corner to proceed.
🔹 In the app on the top right, there's a suitcase icon. Press it to be taken to where you can add a widget. I chose the Zing widget for it's transparency. They have other fantastic frutiger aero widgets!

🔹 Go to Galaxy Themes (this should naturally be installed on your phone, just search it up)
🔹 Add an icon pack of your choosing. I have Classic 3D by Lu Zheng applied because the icons are fantastic, and as a benefit, it makes my custom icons pop even more. It adds additional contrast and highlights to them compared to other icon packs I tested. It cost me $1.44 AUD
🔹 Other options: I really like these icons too. [TMA] Glass Candy Icons by Atlantis, Koi_Beauty by PhintonART, Green Grass with Blue Sky by Quoc Anh Nguygen are free. Bubble 3D by Quoc Anh Nguygen is $1 AUD.
🍋🟩 If you want to skip this step for now, you can always come back to it. You can also apply different Icon sets in the future without it removing your own custom icons.

🔹 If you have Dark Mode enabled, it could be darkening your wallpaper which we don't want. Go to settings > wallpaper and style > dim wallpaper when dark mode is on (turn this off)
I stumbled across a YouTube channel called Ether Music Club. They upload songs from old and largely unknown games, that they source in various ways. Some of the songs only exist on their YouTube channel and can't be found anywhere else on the internet.
