UGC Portfolio Opportunity - Mobile App [Gifted]

Hello, my name is Arda I'm a solo indie developer who recently launched a mobile app for musicians on the App Store and Google Play.

I'm looking for a few UGC creators who are building their portfolios and would like to create short videos for a real app.

I know most collaborations here are paid, and I completely understand that. I'm just being transparent—I don't have a marketing budget yet, so this would be an unpaid collaboration.

In return, you'll get:

A real app to showcase in your portfolio

Complete creative freedom

Premium access to the app while creating content Permission to use the videos in your portfolio

If you're interested or have any questions, feel free to send me a DM or email me at support@practear.com

Thanks

Indie developer looking for beginner UGC creators

I recently launched a mobile app for musicians on the App Store and Google Play, and I'm looking for a few beginner UGC creators who'd like to create a short video about it.

I know most people here do paid collaborations, and I completely understand that. I'm just being transparent, I'm a solo indie developer, and I simply don't have a marketing budget yet.

If you're just getting started with UGC and looking for a real project to add to your portfolio, I'd love to collaborate.

If you're interested or have any questions, feel free to send me a DM or email me at support@practear.com.

Question for UGC creators

I'm curious about something.

I know paid collaborations are the standard, and I completely understand why.

When you were just starting out and didn't have a portfolio yet, did you ever collaborate for free to build one? For example, with an indie app, startup, or small business that didn't have a marketing budget yet?

I'm asking because I'm a solo indie developer who recently launched my first app and don't have a marketing budget yet. I'm just trying to understand whether these kinds of collaborations ever happen, especially with beginner creators.

I'd love to hear about your experiences.

Thanks :)

I built an ear training app. I'd love your feedback

When I was preparing for my music school entrance exams, I struggled to find an ear training app that covered everything I wanted to practice.

So I decided to build my own.

I recently released PractEar, an app with exercises for intervals, chords, sight reading, rhythm, and more. I'm still actively improving it, and I'd love honest feedback from people who practice ear training regularly.

I also made a short video to show some of the features. The app is still in its early stages, so you might run into things that need improvement. If you notice anything, I'd really appreciate you letting me know.

If you give PractEar a try, I'd love to hear what you like, what you'd change, and what you think is still missing.

Music Technology / Sound Engineering Master's Programs with Scholarships (US or Europe?)

Hello everyone,

I'm currently a third-year university student in Turkey and will be graduating in about a year. After graduation, I'm considering pursuing a master's degree in Sound Engineering or Music Technology. My primary goal is to study in the United States, but I'm also open to programs in Europe as long as the language of instruction is English.

I'm mainly interested in recording, mixing, mastering, and post-production. I'm looking for programs that are more practical and industry-oriented rather than heavily focused on electroacoustics, acoustics, physics, or highly theoretical research.

So far, I've taken courses in game music, harmony, recording, Pro Tools, audio production for video and animation, mastering, mixing, sound synthesis, and live sound.

Since tuition fees can be quite expensive, I'm especially interested in programs that offer scholarships, assistantships, or other funding opportunities. I'd also appreciate hearing from anyone with experience working while studying, especially regarding student visa restrictions and available job opportunities.

Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Should I buy the Full Package Bundle before playing for the first time?

Hi everyone, I saw this game recently and checked the SteamDB charts. It says there are currently 460K people playing it. I don’t know how to play yet, but should I buy the Full Package Bundle before starting?

Apple rejected my app twice under Guideline 4.3(a), now says it’s similar to an app from a terminated developer account — what should I do?

I’ve been developing a mobile app with **Flutter** for about 1.5 months. I’m not a professional developer, so I built most of it through **vibe coding**, with help from tools like Claude and Codex. During the process.

On my first App Store submission, Apple rejected the app under **Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam**, saying that the app shared a similar binary, metadata, and/or concept with apps submitted by other developers.

After that, I spent around 7 days making major changes: I updated the App Store page, metadata, UI, onboarding flow, several screens, and also added new features. Then I submitted it again.

However, Apple rejected it a second time under the same guideline. This time, they added that my app appears similar to apps previously submitted by a **terminated Apple Developer Program account**. That part worries me, because it was not mentioned in the first rejection.

The app has already passed closed testing on Google Play Store and is ready to be released. I was planning to launch it on Google Play and the App Store at the same time, but now Apple has rejected it twice.

At this point, I’m not sure what to do. Should I appeal, send a detailed explanation to App Review, make more fundamental changes to the current app, or start over with a completely new Flutter project? I especially don’t want to make a wrong move and put my Apple Developer account at further risk.

Has anyone experienced something similar, or does anyone familiar with App Store Review have advice on the best next step?

Is there a trial for Claude Code?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently developing a Flutter app, and my iOS submission was rejected under Guideline 4.3(a) – Design Spam.

I’ve been thinking about redesigning and repositioning the product experience, and I feel like Claude could really help with the UI/UX and product-thinking side of things.

I wanted to ask is there any way to try Claude for free or access a trial first?

Would really appreciate any advice from people who’ve used it for app/product design workflows.

Got rejected for Guideline 4.3(a) “Design - Spam” on my first app submission

Hey everyone,

I recently submitted my first iOS app to the App Store for review, but this morning I woke up to a rejection under Guideline 4.3(a) – Design Spam.

The confusing part is that my app is completely original. I designed and developed it myself using Flutter over the past month. It’s not a white-label/template app, and it’s not in an extremely saturated category like dating, wallpapers, fortune telling, etc.

I’m currently also in closed testing on Android, but Apple rejected the iOS version with this message:

From what I understand, Apple may think the app is too similar to existing music education apps, even though all code/assets were made by me.

Has anyone here experienced a 4.3(a) rejection before?

Did adding more unique features or changing the app positioning help?

I’d really appreciate any advice from people who managed to get through this.

IOS Uygulamam 4.3.0 (spam) nedeniyle reddedildi

Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam

Issue Description

We noticed the app shares a similar binary, metadata, and/or concept as apps submitted to the App Store by other developers, with only minor differences.

Submitting similar or repackaged apps is a form of spam that creates clutter and makes it difficult for users to discover new apps.

Some factors that contribute to a spam rejection may include:

- Submitting an app with the same source code or assets as other apps already submitted to the App Store

- Creating and submitting multiple similar apps using a repackaged app template

- Purchasing an app template with problematic code from a third party

- Submitting several similar apps across multiple accounts
