Im looking to run Frontends like Coin Ops/ Hyperspin etc.

My main Modern PC games will be Mortal Kombat 1/Street Fighter etc

The Pedestal will probably be 2-4 player setup with Spinner and Trackball etc.

What is the best USB Encoders to buy that will fit in with this Modern Build? I wasnt too keen on the Ipac64 a few years ago tbh.

I dont mind ordering from AliExpress etc as im not in a rush.

Are there any that encode to Xbox controls? So my games like Mk1 will run on it well.

Im looking to buy a small gaming PC to play games like Mortal Kombat/Mario etc with my kids. I want to be able to hook it up with cables to a Mame Arcade Cabinet....But also be able to move the Mini PC to under my Main 4K TV to watch Movies and play games myself.

Im not looking to play Cyberpunk at over 100fps at 4k......Im just looking to be able to play a lot of AAA titles without stuttering etc...DOnt mind turning GFX down etc.

My kids have an Arcade cabinet with 4 player Arcade Buttons etc which also runs a TouchScreen Juke box.....So im looking to add this small form factor to that....as i say and then be able to move it when needed for myself.

Most games in the Arcade are run by Hyperspin and run games from Mame to Mortal Kombat 1 on PC.

Will this unit be enough for all this?

I dont want to build another PC as it was a nightmare last time so this is why im looking into a Mini PC that can last a few years.

Ok.....I have finally installed Pimax Evo for my Dream Air LH.

Looks like the Sboys driver loads as i get the option to use shaders etc.

SteamVR boots as expected but i noticed that most of my Modded games dont run.

For instance i downloaded the Bioshock Mod.....This works absolute fine booting with Virtual Desktop on my Quest 3......But when Using the Pimax Dream Air the game boots but wont start in VR.

Im a little confused on how to make my Pimax Dream Air run Modded games.....What is the process for using the Pimax to start a modded game? I noticed on a video on youtube that someone had a setting in their actual Steam VR setting page saying OpenXR......But i dont have that option on my VR settings.

Cn someone post a simplified walkthrough on how to start a game to play games like Bioshock ?

I dont understand how to use the OpenXR vs OpenVR or Steam.

All my native steam games run fine from SteamVR library.....but as i say modded games i dont know how to start them properly

Feel as if so many people are telling me all kinds of different things here. Not bothered about motion controls....Playing with Controller is fine.....I just want the game to Work

I have the Dream Air LH edition.

I currently have the Index Controllers and Base Stations 1.0. The tracking is ok...In HLA the guns are all over the place sometimes.

Is it actually worth upgrading my Base Stations to 2.0? Many people say yes and other no as it wont make a difference.

I dont just want to fork out over £200 just for the sake of it....Would they actually be benificial? Or are the 1.0 just as good?

I play mostly FPS games and subnautica/Demeo etc......So i need my Controllers more than Sim Users.

Also is the original Vive Wands any good to pickup as spares? For Beat Saber etc?

Dream Air Driver Install Process?

Can someone go over exactly the setup that you need for the new drivers ?

Do i install Pimax Play? Do i run Pimax Play first?

Do i install the Sboys driver after this or before?

When do i start the Sboys and run Pimax to start in SteamVR?

I just got my new headset and already this is frustrating me as im told multiple different ways to install this.

Sending it back to UK warehouse.

I have hopefully another replacement coming so will see how that goes this time but cant get excited over it all now tbh.

I was going to get a full refund and wait another 3-4 months....but they said they can send out a replacement quickly from the UK store i purchased from.

So yesterday using the SBoys driver i had 5 blackouts in headset....Today i had 8.....and all 8 totally ruined my experience as in the games i was killed or lost the playfield in Pinball games.

The loss of picture sometimes comes with loss of sound as well....Today it also went black that it didnt come on with pushing power button....Thought it was bricked at one point till i restarted PC again.

Over the last week i have tried all the following:

tried 90htz and 72htz

Ran at 0.8 resolution and lower.

Set timer from 5 mins to 20 mins.

Tried different drivers on my 4090

tried multiple games

reset windows

tried Sboys driver along with todays Evo driver and the pimax play

updated headset

checked all wire connections into headset and PC and reset

Checked the terrible flex in arms of headset

EDIT.....On the comedic side of things does any one get their hair caught in the arms of the Headset when taking it off

Hi....

Whilst testing out my headset to work out my Blackout issues the orignal face gasket is hurting my forehead and letting in light from below.

I was looking into printing a face gasket for the Dream Air.

I have even used a 3D printer let alone own one....So is there anyone in the UK selling these? Or have the files i could send for it to be printed to a reputable UK Pritning company?

When printed or bought does it just click into the Pimax Dream Air like the original one at the moment?

What have you tried to fix the issue? And have you fixed it?

I already RMA my headset and its to be sent back to UK warehouse this week.

But im still trying to work things out.

So the issue i have is that randomly during every game i play my headset looses power goes black and i need to press power button to get the game back on. The game is still on my PC screen and sometimes when my headset goes black i can still hear the Audio from the game.

Now i tried this new driver tonight from sboyss3......The driver seemed to slow the issue down...I was playing Demeo for around 30 mins before it blacked out....whereas it blacked out near every 5 mins in games.

Anyone else have any ideas.

Pimax Dream Air

I updated the headset to 1.2....and using the latest Pimax Play.

All my 4090 drivers are installed and running fine...all games outside VR run amazing.

So my issues:

I start up Half Life Alyx ( or any game) the games starts fine and the graphics are stunning tbh...Sadly this is where it ends.

After about 5 mins the headset goes Black....i can hear the game but no visuals.....On my PC Screen the game is still on and running fine.

What i need to do it turn the power off and back on on the headset....after 5 seconds the game appears again in my headset.

This happens with all games and at random times usually between 2 mins in till 15 mins.

I have set the screen timeout to 20 mins but i know this is not the issue.

Again all my drivers are up to date and my Crystal Light ran fine.

Second issue is tracking.....When i am lucky to be in the game the tracking is very Poor. Im running Steam VR base Stations 1.0 and Index Controllers....But the movement is all over the place ....It settles down mut obviosly kills the immersion.

Has anyone got these base stations and Index controllers running fine?

And what other options do i have to run Controllers on on the lighthouse version of these headsets?

Another slight issue is the face gasket...It lets light in on the right hand side...and it appears on the left hand lens as a light dot....This makes me feel a little cross eyed when i tend to stare at certain area.....Im assuming this is why people are buying different gaskets?

I am from the UK and bought the headset within the UK so i can easily send the item back but id rather get this working as tbh...it looks amazing....but tracking and the obvious black screen is shocking.

I just recieved my PimaxDream Air.

I have a few issues that im attemtping to work out.

1. Every few minutes during gameplay of any game my Headset flashes and goes black....Then appears again. When it goes Black i can see very quckly like a crazy multicolured screen then the headset returns to game as normal (as if like a coloured crazy power screen)

I have the lastest Nvidia Drivers....Im using a 4090 GPU. The Headset is correctly plugged in and so is the USB.

This is my main issue at the moment and needs fixed of course. I have uses the headset settings at 100% and then dropped to 80% and still the same the headset quickly turns off and back on

Any Ideas?

2. There is a light issue on my Headset...When in VR Screen in total black i first thought it was a dead pixel but then i cupped my hands around the foam gasket and it dissapeared. The Foam Gasket letting light bleed in looks like it causes a light artifact in the headset.

3. The tracking isnt the best. Im using Steam VR Base stations 1.0.....These work absolute fine when using my Valve Index with Controllers.

Is there anything worth looking into as i play a lot of Shooters etc.

Hi i picked up a cheap bass guitar about a year ago and have really taken to it.

Im playing a lot of Rock and Indie music like

Pink Floyd/ACDC/Rolling Stones/Stereophonics/U2/RadioHead etc etc....Lot of blues as well.

Im looking to upgrade my Bass.....Looking tp spend up to £500 at the moment.

Any suggestions? I dont want fretless though and preferably white in colour but open to all.

If i can fine a Bass cheaper on auction sites i can look at those as well

I know playing games are more subjective and i can change settigs in game etc but its mostly the default settings as i dont understand some of them.

ATM im using motion smoothing so all my games are at 45 FPS.....Is this correct?

I have a Quest 3 for non tethered games and Meta games....I have recently bought a 2nd hand PCL.....Everything looks and plays well and i can see an improvement from the Q3 in Graphics.

Im looking to add My Valve Index Knuckle Controllers to this via the Faceplate or Dongles......Is it worth it to but SteamVR USB Dongles or the Pimax Faceplate? What works better?

I already have Base Stations and the Controllers as i own also a Valve Index.
