Cars x Acceleracers: Racing Drones and Silencerz

I and u/West-Elephant-3628 are back at it with the Racing Drones from Acceleracers. Had fun making these, hehe. For the Silencerz, West Elephant and I decided to make these designs holographic disguises (with some hints to their true form in the name and front designs)

Next up is a final part covering misc characters from Acceleracers; hope I get through with drawing those!

Cars x Acceleracers: Metal Maniacs and The Acceledrome Crew

u/West-Elephant-3628 and I are back with even more Cars crossover goodness. Huge props to him for originally designing Lani, Kadeem, Gig, Taro, and Tezla for his World Race designs.

On a side note, some characters like Markie and Porkchop/Smokechop are meant to fuse both of their vehicles, something West Elephant suggested to me, design-wise.

See you next time as I tackle the remaining two teams!

Cars x Acceleracers: Team Teku

Huge props to u/West-Elephant-3628 for letting me continue his Cars crossover series and collaborating on the design process for these car-ified drivers.

The idea for these designs is to have the designs reflect the color palettes of the drivers and the cars combined (hence Vert and Kurt's color schemes matching the colors of their outfits). Carrying on from Raceriel's designs, I tried to make Vert and Kurt's designs feature details from both their cars (Deora 2 + Power Rage, Slingshot + Battle Spec) for lore reasons (mainly to avoid having the characters switch models every time lol)

Anyways, see you next time to move some metal!

Thoughts on Platy?

He's that one Schaffrillas clone whom you might have seen for his Cars 1 and 2 videos. And being the one guy who still thinks The Emoji Movie is the worst thing ever made.

His videos are neat, though I am not a fan of his earlier videos stealing lines from Schaff (and his Letterboxd opinions sometimes feel a bit too pretentious in wording)

Weird concept for a hypothetical terrible live action Gravity Falls series based on a bad dream I had

I had a nightmare about a hypothetical live action remake about the series around a few days ago (prolly because of the Live Action Moana news and me watching the second season of Netflix’s Avatar series) and it involved:

- It looked like Stranger Things with the color grading
- Mabel and Dipper were played by new young actors
- Stan is played by Brian Cranston
- Soos is played by Jack Black
- Wendy is a black girlboss with dyed orange hair
- the first episode was the only ep I watched. It was a bloated version of Tourist Trapped with Pacifica and Robbie introduced early on, complete with the ending with Stan’s vending machine being redone shot for shot

Based on what I remember, I tried concocting an episode list with the idea of this being a live action bastardization in mind.

Season 1: June (8x40 season on Disney Plus)

1: Summer’s Dawn = Tourist Trapped with elements added in the middle involving the twins meeting the town. Mabel runs into Pacifica in this version of the story
2: McGucket (adaptation of Legend of the Gobblewonker with Stan’s subplot focusing on him trying to bring back Ford’s memories, mixed with flashbacks to their backstory)
3: Dusk 2 Dawn (adaptation of Inconveniencing with more girlboss Wendy moments
4: Gideon’s Games (Adaptation of Hand Rocks except Candy and Grenda are introduced in this episode
5: Fair Ground (Adaptation of Time Traveller’s Pig except Pacifica is more important)
6: Several Times (Adaptation of Boys Crazy, except focused more on Wendy and Dipper’s relationship, with Pacifica in the ep)
7: Ciphers (Adaptation of Dreamscapes with the first half taken from Carpet Diem’s conflict with the twins)
8: Gideonland (Gideon Rises adaptation, ends with the CIA catching onto the GF mysteries)

Season 2: July (8x40 season on Disney Plus)

1: The CIA (ScaryOke Adaptation)
2: Shapeshifters and Schoolgirls (adaptation of Soos and the Real Girl and Into the Bunker. Plot converges at the end and somehow Giffany ends up killing the Shapeshifter as she mistakes him as Soos)
3. Golf Grudges (Golf War adaptation with elements of Love God thrown in for Dipper’s plot with Wendy and her friends and Robbie)
4. Bill’s Puppet (adaptation of Sock Opera)
5. Future’s Past (adaptation of Blendin’s Game)
6. Cultists (Adaptation of Blindeye)
7. Northwest Noir (self explanatory)
8. Final Countdown (adaptation of Not What He Seems)

Season 3: August (8x40 season on Disney Plus)

  1. Tale of Two Stans (self explanatory)
  2. Dungeon Dipper (adaptation of DD and more D)
  3. (Some episode mashing up the main plot of Roadside Attraction and the subplot of Last Mabelcorn. Mabel and Stan go on a roadtrip with Wendy and the girls to find a unicorn for her hair. get perused by a giant spider. Meanwhile Dipper finds out Stanford’s truth)
  4. Crash Site Omega (adaptation of Dipper and Mabel VS the future)
  5. Weirdmageddon
  6. Mabel-Land (adaptation of Weirdmageddon 2)
  7. Stan’s Last Stand (adaptation of the first half of Weirdmageddon 3)
  8. Farewell (adaptation of the second half of Weirdmageddon 3 with Mr and Mrs Pines being the ones to pick the twins up)

I genuinely hope this doesn’t happen because the nightmare was fucking terrible.

What are your thoughts on the Netflix Avatar The Last Airbender? Thought it was whatever, but I am shocked Schaff never talked about it given he discussed the OG and Korra before.

HAPPY 20TH ANNIVERSARY TO CARS!

I was barely a year old when Cars first hit theaters in 2006, and it's honestly wild to think that the film is now nearly as old as I am. Looking back, it feels like this franchise has been there for almost my entire life.

Growing up with Cars meant experiencing far more than just the original movie. There were the sequels, the shorts, the spin-offs, the video games, the die-cast collections, and the countless fan creations that kept the world of Radiator Springs alive long after the credits rolled. Through every high and low, every great release and every divisive one, I've remained attached to this franchise because of what it meant during my childhood and what it continues to mean today.

I know Cars isn't usually the first film people point to when discussing Pixar's greatest works. It's often overshadowed by some of the studio's more critically acclaimed films. Yet for me, it's always been one of my personal favorites. Beneath the racing and colorful characters is a surprisingly sincere story about slowing down, appreciating the people around you, and finding value in places and moments that the rest of the world passes by. Those themes have only become more meaningful as I've gotten older.

Over the last twenty years, I've watched this franchise evolve in ways both good and bad. Not every chapter has landed perfectly, but the heart of Cars has always remained intact. Much like Lightning McQueen himself, the series has gone through its share of wrecks and rough roads, yet it continues moving forward.

Twenty years later, I'm grateful that I got to grow up alongside this franchise and witness its journey firsthand. With this piece dedicated to McQueen racing his early design, here’s a Happy 20th Anniversary to the Cars franchise! To another twenty laps for the future!

Sparkplug Entertainment's A Car's Life, but Pixar Cars!

Definitely gonna make a part 2 featuring more of the characters from the three sequels (2, Royal Heist, and Junkyard Blues), so stay tuned!
