HSBC India users: Would you like Samsung Wallet support?
I've been using HSBC India cards for a while, and there's one fairly significant gap for Samsung users that I don't understand: HSBC India doesn't support adding its cards to Samsung Wallet for tap-and-pay.
HSBC cards can already be used with Google Pay, so this isn't really about HSBC not supporting mobile payments at all. The problem is that Google Pay isn't a complete substitute for Samsung Wallet if you're invested in the Samsung ecosystem.
In particular, Samsung Wallet can be used for payments on compatible Galaxy Watches, which is something I can't replicate with my HSBC card through Google Pay. If I'm wearing my watch, I'd like to be able to leave my phone behind and still make a contactless payment using my HSBC card.
This seems especially odd because HSBC already has the infrastructure to support contactless card payments, and Samsung Wallet isn't some obscure third-party payment service. The missing piece appears to simply be HSBC India enabling its cards for Samsung Wallet.
I'm curious how many other HSBC customers here would actually use this if it were supported.
Would Samsung Wallet support make you more likely to use/keep an HSBC card?
I've also created a petition to gauge interest and hopefully get HSBC India's attention. I'm not expecting a Change . org petition by itself to magically make this happen, but I figured it was worth trying to demonstrate that there are customers who actually want the feature:
Even if you don't want to sign it, I'm interested in hearing from other HSBC + Samsung users: is Samsung Wallet support something you'd actually use?
Question on SBI card change
Ok so apparently I am planning to go to the head office and try to get them to get me an SBI card.
If suppose I can't get the SBI Cashback card from the branch but more like Simplysave or Simplyclick, does SBI have the benefit that I can change this card to something else that gives me the SBI Cashback card or Phonepe Black via upgrade or "flip"?
HSBC Simply Pay cashback campaign offer
This offer is till September 30 2026
https://mail.hsbc.com.hk/in/simplypay_app_0726/TnC_LGS_1.pdf
App is free to use but there are a few problems.
Can't link your indian bank accounts like ICICI, SBI etc yet. However Rupay cards will work.
Maximum cashback is 10 per day
You can also get 24 or 26 INR if your spends are above 101
Cashback is credited within 15 days
Cashback only works for Pay to Merchent
HSBC Simply Pay is a decent app with good cashback
I checked out HSBC Simplypay now that i have a HSBC bank account i have so far got a decent rewards from HSBC
In terms of cashback their offers are good. Get 25 INR for mobile bills and PNG and 50 for electricity bills. They had this bonanza offer that you get 10-12 per day depending on your spends. Hopefully it opens again as i missed it.
But the biggest downside is the UI is boring and wallet load isn't supported yet.
Pros
UI is clean
Can add upto five bank accounts
Supports Rupay cards
Decent cashback amounts
Cons
Very basic and boring UI
No wallet loading
That said if you have a HSBC bank account you might want to consider getting simply pay
So how good is cashback rate for Samsung wallet UPI?
Just curious on what are the perks that Samsung Wallet has that other UPI apps don't especially cashback
Is Paytm good for cashback?
Been using it for a bit now and im curious to know about the paytm ecosystem.
I ended up with some cashback ranging from 10 to 1 INR. How does it compare to BHIM, Amazon Pay, super money pop and navi?
My UPI Cashback rankings
Probably has been created many times but this is my ranking based on the 15 UPI apps that I have used.
Navi - Most consistent and in some cases they are a bit generous.
Super money - its consistent like Navi but the rate is low and you don't get as many offers like in Navi
Cred - best used for paying card bills. The cashback is used for reducing your card bills but not by a huge lot.
Payzapp - Best for utilities as you get cashpoints for paying your bills every month but it requires high amounts to earn it.
BHIM - overrated in this Subrreddit and I don't know why. Its a hit and miss for me. Some cases I did get like 50 but its meh. and the Cashback expires if you don't redeem it within 30 days.
Pop - This one is alright but the cashback works when you burn pop coins to cash. It works best if you get the Pop Card.
Gpay - the golden one and the one dominated in the charts next to Phonepe. Unfortunately its not very generous. However I do use it for tap and pay with My HSBC Live+ Credit card so its not entirely useless.
Jupiter - most advanced. But unreliable at times. Still jewels is atleast good here compared to Pop as you can burn them for vouchers and you can add pots that earn jewels for almost every spend.
Amazon Pay - Rarely used it. Did get some cashback here and there but unless someone here can tell how consistently good it is, I just ignored it most of the times.
Kiwi - I don't know why I got this. I guess I used to get cashback but now it requires the Kiwi card and...I'm wondering if the card is worth getting.
Phonepe- Useless in my book. Cashback is given as gift cards which is even more useless than Amazon Gift balance because its only useful for merchents that have Phonepe QR.
HSBC Simplypay - This one has potential. Right now its handy like Payzapp but I did get 100 INR for linking it with my HSBC bank account and there are offers here and there. But unfortunately lackluster because no wallet loading.
Paytm - Just started using it. Seems to be on par with BHIM but I have to wait and see. If this one is more consistent it takes over BHIM any day.
Imobile - useless right now unless its to see my bank account and credit card bills.
Open axis - same as imobile

storyboard18.comLooking for a point card that has value
So I'm looking for a sixth card(yes I got 6 cards currently with the plan of closing one) that is basically a point system that I can use for redeeming gift vouchers like Amazon etc.
These are the cards I have and what I use them for
Amazon Pay ICICI - Mainly Amazon. Sometimes for offline pay for 1% CB.
HDFC Pixel Play - Either Blinkit, Zomato or Book My Show. the 3% used to be for utilities for my postpaid bill but Live+ now upped their tier so its not much use.
HSBC Live+-All grocery and dining and my phone bill.
Axis Bank Cashback - General online spends. Mostly for buying games.
HSBC Rupay Cashback - Same as Live+. I cap the cashback here first and then switch to Live+
ICICI Coral Rupay - After passing the Rupay Cashback cap with couple of spends.
I am not sure of keeping Coral as it seems lackluster unless you know if it has merit for Ishop..inwhich case I might keep it.
The cards I have in mind for a point system
HSBC Platinum Visa
Axis Samsung Signature
SBI Simplysave
Suggest me one that is a point system.
Cibil: 793
Spend range between 1-10k range(occasionally above 10k for certain spends)
Type of spends : Groceries, Dining, Utilities, Shopping(includes buying games mainly)
Axis bank declined my video game purchases because the mcc code is 5816
Axis Bank declined my video game purchases because the MCC code is 5816
According to Axis Bank any transaction under MCC 5816 will be declined because it is under their policy that transactions under this MCC will be declined.
This would somewhat make my Axis Cashback card a useless since most of my spends are video games. Do all banks have this MCC restriction or its only Axis Bank right now? I tested my Amazon Pay and Pixel Play cards and the transactions worked.
Merchents I buy games from are Steam, GOG and Itch . io all of which have this MCC code.
For some reason it works for Card Domestic Steam under Novaplay. Don't know the workarounds for GOG and Itch . io. Is there a workaround?

Is there any reason to still get the SBI Phonepe Select Black now that HSBC gives 10% back on utilities?
HSBC Live+ with the addition for Shopping and Utilities alongside food and groceries spends give 10% back upto 1200.
In the year of devaluations Live+ is the only one that is revaluated. And seeing that it gives cashback for utility spends, is there any point of getting the SBI Phonepe Select Black?
Question on relocation
So its been four years since i worked at Accenture and so far accenture has honored their policy on resonable accomodation where i get projects that i can work from my base location.
So far i have not been assigned a project that has forced me to relocate but just curious on when would accenture often ask employees to relocate?
Im CL10 and a senior data computational analyst and live in Chennai
Cannot add upi wallet load with HSBC salary/savings account
I just tried to add UPI lite wallet to my new Salary account via HSBC and for some reason it doesn't seem to work with HSBC. Has anyone else faced this?
HSBC Live+ 10% Shopping FAQ
So I asked the customer service on what MCC is eligible for shopping 10% cashback and they said there is no restriction on that part.
So if that is the case then has anyone attempted shopping to see if 10% cashback is eligible for most things considered shopping?
This is one of Axis banks best selling cards. I wonder...

I'm opening a HSBC salary account. Like to know your thoughts on the bank itself.
So I have decided to open a HSBC bank account and I would like to know your experiences with HSBC services.
I guess the main reason I am opening a HSBC account is because I have a future plan of leaving India and HSBC is a global bank so the bank by then will be comfortable because I don't know any other bank besides HSBC that's in USA and such.
That and I'm told that HSBC has good services especially with their Live+ card which is becoming a GOAT imo.
Does a tooth that has a cavity in the enamel region need a filling?
So I got my wisdom tooth pulled out and getting recovered from it. Before I got it pulled the x-ray showed my second molar tooth having a cavity that is at the side where the wisdom tooth got impacted. According to the dentist he says its superficial and not severe.
The x-ray just showed only a shallow region being part of the affected area that supposedly has a cavity. The dentist couldn't see it clinically before and after the wisdom tooth got pulled.
He seems convinced that it needs drilling but I have doubts because looking at it with the dental mirror doesn't show any black or dark spot on that region. Do these cavitites need to be filled by drilling?
