all flingtrainer executable have started giving bink2w64.dll/binkw64.dll errors and nothing I do fixes it. I have downloaded updated drivers (scanned with windows defender and anti-malware) and put them in system32 and syswow64. I have rebooted and run SFC and DISM recovery. I have pasted the .dll into the game directory, but it keeps saying the drivers need to be in the application directory. It's a .exe! I feel stupid, is there a way to paste the driver into the executable?
I can find no information about this anywhere that doesn't amount to "deal with it". The bird moves at snail's pace and yes I'm holding shift, yes I checked the control mapping, yes I moved far enough away to despawn and resummon, yes I updated to the latest patch, yes I updated my gpu driver, I even unloaded my inventory in case there was a hidden encumbrance mechanic. The only thing that makes any difference is jumping, and that only lasts until I mistime a jump. Yes I also reported the bug and got no response yet.

I eventually fell out of the podcast loop a few years ago, and now that GenAI has taken over, I find it impossible to find good recommendations anymore.
