What kind of major infrastructure improvements would you like to see the most around town?

I'm curious to hear everyone's pie-in-the-sky ideas on how they would improve the roads in/around Charlottesville. There's a lot of cross chatter on here about the traffic situation and poorly-timed stoplights, so what do you all think would actually make a difference? Here are some ideas I had:

- Split Rt. 29 into local/thru lanes, akin to the Rio Road overpass, between Rt 250 and the bridge to the 29N area. Some parts of this seem like they'd be pretty feasible, others would be quite an undertaking. It'd be great to not deal with those 9 stoplights every time I go north to Hollymead/Ruckersville

- Traffic circle at Preston/Grady/10th, Barracks/Emmett, Main/Water/Ridge St, Ridge/Monticello, and Ridge/Elliott/Cherry to alleviate some of the traffic choke points in the city

- Overpass at 250/High St. Probably prohibitively expensive, but the traffic at that light is hell beyond 3pm most days.

- Some kind of protected bike lane on Preston/Rose Hill

Hi all, I have a mammillaria cactus that's going on 35 years old that I think has a fungal infection. The base has started turning yellow and is soft to the touch...see the photo. We moved in December and I dont think it was getting enough light in its new location.

I read that you can remove the top, not-infected part of the cactus, let it sit for a couple of weeks until it scabs over, then pot it and it'll grow new roots within a few weeks. Is this true?

My father died last year and this was his...he had it since as long as I can remember and I'm 38 now. So, I really dont want to lose this guy, but cactii are also brand new for me!
