What's it like living around the Taklamakan desert?

Only asking for curiosities sake. It looks like such a unique geographical feature from google maps and I've never really heard anything about it (I'm from North America so that's probably why lol).

Is it possible to import models as mega structures (for art reference)?

I was wondering if it's possible to import a model as a mega structure. For example a cylinder that is 10 km wide and 50 km tall, that kind of thing. I want to have an art reference for mega structures and space engine would provide the perfect back drop for a hulking monolith. I know you can import models for space ships but I would like to import a big ole static structure to plop on a desolate world. Is this possible?

Computer visual and audio cut out, yet computer was still on.

As the title says, computer audio and visuals completely cut out while gaming (wasn’t very intense gaming too).

I was able to force shut down my computer and boot it back up no problem. Strange thing is I found nothing in the event viewer or display driver events.

What I did notice is my main power cable was very slightly unplugged from the wall outlet. Could that potentially cause this behavior? I’m not sure since the computer didn’t shut off or reboot.

The other suspect is the GPU having issues. Im currently running a stress test in OCCT. 11 minutes in at 100% usage and everything is looking good. Any insights are appreciated 🙏

Making a new PC build. Is there a way to transfer files from my old C drive to a new drive with a fresh windows installation on it?

Hello, here's the situation:

I'm making a new build and I am going to keep one of my SSDs (not the C drive) and replace my aging current C drive SSD with the NVME I bought for my build.

On my current build I've been having some issues with random restarts and one BSOD (99.9999% sure its not the power supply since I replaced it 3 times w/ brand new Corsair PSUs w/ no luck) and I now suspect my windows installation might be borked.

So with my new build I'm going to take the opportunity to reinstall windows on my new NVME drive (and update from windows 10 to 11. Ew I know but what can you do). The catch is I would like to keep all my non-windows files on my current C drive if possible.

So that brings me to the initial question: is there a way to preserve the files on my old C drive and somehow migrate them to my new drive with a fresh windows install? Or is my methodology completely off the mark and there is an easier way to do it?

Apologies if my question isn't clear, I'm not the best at explaining things. Let me know if I need to clear something up. Any help is super duper appreciated!

Build specs in case its relevant:

CURRENT BUILD:

Asrock b450 pro 4

Ryzen 7 5700x3D

7800XT

32 gigs DDR4

2 SSDs

NEW BUILD:

Gigabyte B850 Aorus Elite Wifi 7

Ryzen 7 9800x3D

7800XT (reused)

32 gigs ddr5 (aka princes ransom in memory 😔)

1 SSD (reused)

1 NVME

Corsair RM850x (reused)
