Correlation?

I know this may be a reach, but I’m curious if anyone here has experienced something similar or noticed a possible correlation.
A few months before my AFib episode, I suddenly started developing pretty bad migraines/headaches. What made it strange was that I had never suffered from migraines before in almost 30 years of my life. They became frequent enough that my doctor eventually put me on preventative medication—topiramate, 50 mg twice a day—and over time the headaches started to improve.
Thankfully, I had my eyes checked, had a brain MRI that came back normal, and had a lot of testing done when I ended up in the hospital with AFib. So far, nothing has shown anything obviously abnormal.
But since developing AFib, like I’m sure many people do after their first episode, I’ve been thinking back on everything that was happening with my body beforehand. I keep wondering whether these completely new headaches could have been some kind of warning sign that something else was going on with my body.
I know AFib and migraines may be completely unrelated, and I’m definitely not trying to diagnose myself based on Reddit. I’m just curious: Did anyone else suddenly develop migraines, headaches, or other unusual symptoms in the weeks or months before their first AFib episode?
Maybe I’m connecting dots that aren’t actually connected, but I’d really appreciate hearing other people’s experiences. Thanks in advance.

Diagnosed with afib at 30

Yesterday morning I woke up, stretched, and immediately noticed my heart was beating much faster than normal. I’ve been overweight my whole life, so I’ve occasionally felt my heart race before, but this felt different. It wasn’t going away, and by the time I got in the shower I was struggling to catch my breath.

I got dressed and drove myself to the ER. They diagnosed me with atrial fibrillation with a rapid heart rate. The doctor even said, “We’re throwing the kitchen sink at you, and you’re still not responding.” They admitted me and explained that if I didn’t convert back into normal sinus rhythm, they would need to perform a cardioversion.

Thankfully, they started me on an IV medication overnight, and after getting some sleep my heart rate came down below 100 and eventually converted back into normal sinus rhythm on its own, so I didn’t need the cardioversion.

Now that the immediate crisis is over, my mind is racing with questions. What does life look like from here? How likely is this to happen again? Will I be able to continue working? Does this affect my life expectancy? I’m only 30, so this has been a lot to process.

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through something similar. What has your journey with AFib been like? Have you had recurrences? Were you able to get back to living a normal life? Any advice or reassurance would mean a lot right now. Thanks.

NJ SORA?

I keep reading that it’s basically pointless to get the certification as most jobs or gigs go to retired police or military which I get and makes sense but can anyone share any success stories on any jobs or gigs they were able to land with their certification without being an ex Leo or in the service and what the pay and experience was like. I’m in the Bergen county and Hudson county area. And if anyone can point me in a good direction. I would like to do something Friday night and Saturdays only part time maybe even Sunday’s if needed. Thanks in advance.

Optic mount need help

I just picked up a Glock 19 Gen 6 and decided to buy an OSight K optic however I am curious as if this will be a direct fit or if I need any special adapters? If so would anyone be able to point me in the right direction of one. I looked on a Glock website and it states that mounting plate # 2 which is the one I think I need is out of order. Thanks In advance!

How difficult is it to get a Glock now a days?

I went to my local dealer the other day to look at a few guns I’ve been in the market for a Glock, preferably a Glock 19 MOS I remember asking one of the reps if they had anything that was optic ready and they said no and that obtaining them from the vendor is taking weeks. I don’t know if this was true or if he was just blowing smoke up my you know what. Has anyone run into this issue lately? How difficult would it be to get my hands on a Glock 19 optic ready? I would like to get something brand new not secondhand but if anybody can point me in the right direction that would be great. I’m in the Bergen County area. Thanks.

What’s a good concealed carry gun for a bigger guy?

I’m 6 feet closer to 300 lbs (yes I know and I’m working on it) I’ve got a gut and I’m at that point where I’m trying to figure out what clothing works well and what doesn’t. I’m also trying to figure out what type of carrying works best whether it’s appendix carry or not and if so what position (o’clock). I currently own two pistols a p320 compact and just picked up a shield x. I am intrested in getting a Glock as my next purchase but I am open to any ideas from the bigger bros out there. Please feel free to share any tips that may have worked for you. Thanks.
