Question, where does this games replay ability come from?

I see people with hundreds of hours in this game and I keep having to stop and asking "How?".

I come from Vermintide 2 and love coming to L4D2 to see it's dna every now and then but I feel like it's just a "1 and done experience" if that makes sense.
Is there a lot going on in the back that I am not aware of? Do I treat the campaign as maps rather then a story progression?

How are runs even different from one another? At times I feel like when running the same map to expect the same things.

Deck idea(not really degenerating) Chaos on the Board

Just looking for chaotic g/r card ideas alongside better commander recommendations.

I've been wanting to make a Gruul deck based off of just being a hazard on the field and going all in on randomization and chaos. Cards like [[Thieves' Auction]], [[Possibility Storm]], [[Wild evocation]], [[Grip of Chaos]], [[Goblin Game]], [[Living Plane]], [[Nature's Revolt]] and [[Descent into Avernus]].

The entire point of the deck is to throw off the entire course of the game, every game will be different by a landslide and so much more chaotic.

For Commander Ideas, the first two that come into mind here is either [[Bello, Bard of the Brambles]] or [[Jolene, the Plunder Queen]].

Bello because I figured that because most chaotic spells are enchantments, it would give attackers, and some protection on my turn. My main worry with him is that I would be usually vulnerable outside of my turn. I don't want to go the usual Bello Stax route.

Jolene was my 2nd guess because I can cheat out a lot of things on the field with the deck being with treasure tokens alongside it being a good politicking tool before shit hits the fan. Also thematically the chaos and her being a "Plunder Queen" is amazing.
I can also have a lot more consistent damage output with her.

hell maybe there's a non-gruul commander that is so much more perfect for what I am trying to do.

Degenerate idea: Secondary commander with Rocco and Ruric Thar, the unbowed.

Entire deck idea with Rocco purely entering to search for [[Ruric Thar, the Unbowed]]. The reason for Rocco is because of the addition of white and being able to have more outlets and access to lifelink and stax.

Seeing this as a way for force players to play non-creature spells and take a lot of damage with Thar and help me gain life AND work around the ability targeting myself with it gaining life, making me be able to play non-creature spells with no punishment.

Main worry is this would be 9 cmc but I know this is gruul doing gruul things and cheating big monsters in fast.

On paper this sounds hilarious but I am unsure on how this would work in practice due to how scary the cmc is and such.

Silly question, what do you enjoy emulating for party games?

Recently setup Tico on my switch and it's amazing, every time I think "surely I can't do ___" and I can, honestly an amazing emulating tool.

I love playing couch games with my family and recently just discovered Mario Kart Double Dash has a rom hack: MKDD Plus, making an almost perfect party game, perfect and have been having a blast with the family.

I tried emulating Wii games but they don't work, so the limit seems to be GameCube games, that being said, what are some old games that emulate well that you can put on the dock and play with family?

Silly question, why do you think l4d2 competitive scene never flourished AND how would you fix it? (Image unrelated)

[Follie] Inkstress

My favorite frame by far, I love her design.

I wish I could make the maru obi more dark, it seems to always have a tint on it to appear lighter then I want it to be.

Wanting to migrate to Warframe, a single turn-off. Maybe I'm wrong?

Title, I am a Destiny veteran and for reasons some may be aware, I, along as a lot of others won't be playing it for the long run.

I've always wanted to migrate to warframe, the other mmo-rpg looter shooter but was always turned off by a single thing. The game mechanic of needing to wait IRL days in order to progress in the game. Maybe I'm wrong and it's skippable? I don't have enough time in the game to be able to stem whether or not this is a real staple in the gameplay loop. I really hope it isn't.

(GameMode Concept Idea) Wild West

-# inspired by the concept of Chaos Wastes from Vermintide II

Side game mode where you play a roguelite of the game.

You can pick your beginning 2 weapons and utility but you are not given jokers.

### Spire Map

You are given a Slay-the-Spire inspired map to pick between where you can either: fight, gamble, or rest depending on the map generation. The player will need to pick paths in a voting system with their team.

Some paths will have higher risk for the higher reward, others will be safer and more linear paths.

Fight paths have randomized: Boss, Location and Objective.

Difficulty can vary, easy can lock some "inventory joker slots" where all(including the prestige 2 slots) could be unlocked in Nightmare

-# It's important to note that these don't save because it's a roguelite.

### Joker system

Jokers can have their own inventory system as base hero jokers work.

The player can pick up jokers on runs and equip them like they would when selecting them at the saloon, those that are not equipped will be refreshed on the next advancement on the path.

-# see example provided

I'm also a big fan of the idea that spells are also randomized and can be found throughout the map(map as in Spire map) when advanced. Making spell combos more rewarding to find and forcing the player to adapt to things they're forced with.

Ofcourse, the player can swap spells found, maybe through rest? Or drop them on the floor like jokers?

### Modifiers?

Nightmare can introduce some paths having Modifiers enabled throughout an entire run such as Tornadoes throughout the map or Enemies exploding upon death(not inflicting friendly fire so they're more dangerous) or doubling Nuker spawns.

### Boss idea for the Wild West: The Mimic

It copies phases of other existing bosses, having waves and swapping in fast pace to different bosses.

One second it's dropping in the middle as the Vulture then it swaps up as the Haunted Saloon and is spinning with his bullet hell.
