I also wrote a short essay:
In California and New York and list of states that is growing terrifyingly quickly, it's illegal to access or distribute the files necessary to privately manufacture an item you are constitutionally entitled to possess, and even more illegal to actually do that. If you ask me (you didn't), that's not gun control, it's another step in the concerning direction towards a Cyberpunk future where manufacturing and commodities are taken out of the hands of the masses and placed into the grip of megacorporations. That's why I think the 3D2A movement is so valuable. It's not ironic that one of the last forms of home production is in the form of an item so many fascist governments seek to control. In the words of Orwell:
"That rifle on the wall of the labourer's cottage or working class flat is the symbol of democracy. It is our job to see that it stays there."
Good luck to the Californians and New Yorkers who want to practice that philosophy. With that said, Mamdami is still goated. Can't win 'em all.
Does anyone know of any projects like this? I've got a bunch of old 12g CO2 canisters laying around and I think it would be awesome to make a concealable pepperball PDW. I know nothing about how non-firearm guns work.
Printed bolt carrier, uses regular AR bolt and barrel. Barrel assembly is rotated 45 degrees counterclockwise both to allow the feed ramps to more effectively from hand-loaded bullets and to allow you to use flipped gas blocks without venting gas through the set screw holes. Uses flat-printed side sheets for strength and weight reduction. Also possible to cut these from metal or carbon fiber. Fits regular AR15 handguards and barrel nuts.
wonder about the overlap between this community and 3D2A? where you do stand on homemade firearms?
