I have 4000$ invested into Amundi Index MSCI World.
I am planning to invest 15000$ one shot now and was thinking of the Amundi Prime USA fund as well.

Apart from this, I am planning to DCA $1000 every month into either of the 2 funds.

Which fund should I go for the lumpsum investment and monthly DCA? Is there a x% y% split I should follow? or in the long run it doesn't matter.

I have 2 questions:

1. Which is the best place to exchange SGD into USD? Moomoo offers bad rate but can transfer to DBS Multiplier USD account at 0$ fee. Not sure with IBKR but heard it has the best exchange rate. Wise is somewhere in between for wire transfers. For now Maribank offers some good rates as well.

2. Does all wire transfers incur fees? How can I know which bank charges how many fees? Does DBS charge outgoing fees and like say US bank like Chase or BoA charge incoming wire fees?

I’m planning to convert and send around $30,000 so would like to know which is the best out there.

I am planning to book Eva Air from Singapore to Dallas.

I noticed that I can provide my Krisflyer details during the checkout page in Eva Air website as SQ and Eva Air come under the same group of airlines for miles redemption.

I currently have 11000 Krisflyer miles. Can I use that to offset the cost for my Eva Air flight or the miles that I earn by flying through Eva Air gets credited to my Krisflyer account?

I am a foreigner. My grandparents live in India and have a substantial amount of savings in their bank account. One of them also gets pension which is enough for both of them. They told me that if I want that money, I can take it.

However, I was thinking of helping them invest in bonds through Indiabonds platform.

I have a few questions.

1. Will they be subjected to taxes? The overall income(which is just pension) per annum would come to 10L-12L only, even lesser than that. If they invest in bonds, they would be getting monthly returns, would that be taxed?

2. I have an account in with a bank in India and my status is foreigner in that bank. If I transfer that money to this account and invest in bonds, would I be taxed as foreigner?

3. If you make direct bank transfers between bank accounts, is it subjected to taxes? My grandparents have been holding that money for ages and if they suddenly make a huge transfer to my account, is there any issue?

Please advise me on what I can do. I was also thinking of investing in US markets through ETFs but wanted to be a bit safer and choose less risk.

I really feel this concept of singing Tamil Thai Vaazhthu at start of every event is just a political gimmick. No one is signing that genuinely for the love and respect for Tamil language.

They just want to play it for namesake and later tell we play it at the start of every event and give importance. Vijay being CM should be an example and sing it but he just stays silent. Ithelam oru problem ah nu kepinga, its not going to make a big difference but you get what I mean.

I have already invested $4000 into Amundi Index MSCI World UT via POEMS and by September I would have another $10000 to invest.

Should I just do a lumpsum investment and let it grow or maybe DCA 1000$ every month? I can also avoid the $2.73 DBS fee if I just do a lumpsum investment and forget about it.

Additionally, should I also pour some into the Amundi Core MSCI Emerging Markets UT? What about the Amundi Prime USA UT?

Or to make things simple, just carry on with the Amundi Index MSCI World UT?

If this is my portfolio allocation using CPF, I am considering DCA into $VWRA every month? I am unsure on how to diversify and hence would like all of your suggestions and inputs.

NOTE: I want to take risk, many told me to keep the CPA OA as it is and let it grow but I am okay with any losses. So please do not advise in comment section on to keep it, use for bto etc.

I have received my F1 visa and I am from Singapore.

My course is only 2 years and will end in 2028. But my expiry date is 2031 as mentioned in the F1 visa.

Is this the same for every country or depends on which country you are from?

Does this mean that even after my graduate in 2028, I can stay in the US until 2031 or use this visa to come to the US until 2031?

June 8, 9:30AM Interview: Went smooth but when asked about social media handles mentioned on DS160, i said I forgot to add some. The VO asked the reason and told its not a valid reason when I said I forgot due to a rush. Gave me yellow 221g slip and refused my application. Gave another yellow paper to email the social media handles and make my account public within 24 hours. Went home and did it in 1hr. Around 4pm, CEAC status changed from Refused to Approved.

June 9: CEAC status changed from Approved to Issued.

June 10: At the moment of writing, received my passport with F1 visa issued all within 2 days.

I can’t imagine how privileged I am to have a Singapore passport!

I'm a Hindu, and this isn't meant as a hate post. I'm genuinely curious about something I experienced recently.

A few days ago, my Hindu friend and I were hanging out with some Muslim friends. and one them suggested visiting a mosque just as a fun ( no hate, it wasn't forced, also my frd too wanted)honestly, I wasn't planning to go, but I didn't want anyone to feel uncomfortable or think I was disrespecting their beliefs, so I went along. They explained a few things about the mosque and what happens there, and overall it was a normal experience.

On our way back, we passed a temple. My friend and I decided to go inside. We didn't pressure anyone, but I casually invited our Muslim friends to come with us. They politely said, "No, you guys pray, we'll wait outside."

That surprised me because they had happily welcomed us into the mosque, while they themselves didn't want to enter a temple. I later wondered if this might be due to religious teachings or cultural practices rather than personal dislike.

As a Hindu, I felt proud that I personally had no problem visiting another place of worship. It also made me think about how different religions approach these situations.

So my question is for Muslims here, is avoiding entry into temples something taught in Islam, or does it depend on the individual? I'm asking out of curiosity, not hatred.

Does emailing academic advisors help in open slots for courses that are full during course registration?

or do they just tell to wait until someone drops or just ask you take another course.

If the T-Bill or SGS is only giving a yield less than 2.5% , does it mean that the money is better if it just stays in my CPF OA account?

I feel that people should go for these options only if they can invest a good amount of money, maybe like 5-digit sum or even more. In some cases, the yield is better than Fixed Deposit rates offered by banks.

I’d appreciate if someone can enlighten me on when I can choose bonds. Should I go for them when I am like 55+ and choose to take lesser risk?
