This idea was shamelessly stolen from a NAFO commenter

Hate her all you want but this is a spectacular opportunity for us if we're smart about it.

Like her or not, when someone offers you a tool to start countering Russian propaganda, you take it.

Our entire stated purpose is countering Russian propaganda. Someone starts doing that in a way that can reach MAGA, you don't downvote and cry. You swallow your pride and forward that shit to every conservative family member and friend you have.

(US Catholics) Has anyone's parish organized a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) or emergency preparedness ministry?

We've been looking into this because the training is free. The idea is that every Mass would have at least one person on hand who was first aid/fire extinguisher trained, and down the line if we get enough people trained the church could be staffed as a de-facto emergency shelter during natural disasters. Possible way to involve younger people too. Has anyone tried/done anything like this?

Free/easy way to get a "professional development" certificate on your resume

I don't know if it works outside the US, but FEMA's Emergency Management Institute offers a Professional Development Series certificate for taking (and passing) seven roughly hour-long online courses. There is no cost.

Especially useful if you're just starting out and are trying to add some weight to the resume.

TIL that in the 1980s, realizing large emergencies would overwhelm first responders, the US government created the Community Emergency Response Training program, which provides free emergency/disaster training to all US citizens.
