I targeted a 1 km radius with on meta with ~8,800 residents in it. Meta reached 48,735. Did it reach the 8,800 at all?
Casablanca, Morocco. Local business.
- Pin drop, 1 km radius, men 18-34
- Awareness / ThruPlay, 8pm-1am, freq cap 1/day
- 9.48 EUR spent over 4 evenings
- 78,965 impressions, 48,735 reach, CPM 0.12 EUR
About 8,800 men 18-34 actually live inside that circle. I reached 5.5x that.
My worry isn't the extra people. It's whether the 8,800 are even in there, or whether Meta skipped them entirely and filled the delivery with cheaper accounts from "recently in this location".
Marginal CPM went down across the 4 days (0.131 → 0.101), so it clearly never had to bid up for anyone.
- At this budget, does Meta reach your core targeted people at all, or only the cheapest accounts it can win?
- Does delivery inside a fixed radius skew to low-value accounts when the budget is small?
- Anyone ever checked where their actual signups were after a tight-radius campaign?
