New Raven/crow art installation throughout the city, there was one nearby so I brought Cinnamon to check it out!

Sorry, rhetorical question, but WTF??? Went to our local Walmart to do a return for my wife, and the customer service people have police grade BODYCAMS???

Is Portland just that bad or is this like an all Walmart thing?

Just sharing my youngest child (Cinnamon) because we had him out and he's beautiful.

(I'd do pics of all 4 of my corns, but two of them are in shed, and Kismet, my bloodred, is currently doing some self-care™ my shoving his head in his substrate, apparently eco-earth/coconut fiber is GREAT for the complexion)

Just picked up some front opening cages for my bigger corns, and most of the sneks got shuffled to bigger cages!

I have 12 snakes, and 2 beardies.

4 Corns (Pantherophis guttatus); all different morphs

2 kingsnakes (Lampropeltis californiea); one MBK, one high white Cali king

​

1 Kenyan sand boa (Eryx colubrinus)

​

1 Cape house snake (Boaedon capensi)

​

1 Western hognose (Heterodon nasicus)

​

2 Ball Pythons (Python regius) (fosters)

​

1 Carpet Python (Morelia spilota) (rescue)

​

2 Bearded dragons (Pogona vitticeps)

It's a beautiful day to go for a walk!

**Tl;dr-** snake is a rescue from really uneducated owners. I'm fostering, trying to get him healthy before trying to find a new permanent home. Any advice on further steps would be appreciated.

**Long version-**

Buddy of mine who's a fellow reptile enthusiast reached out to me two weeks back asking me to take in 3 snakes, as he was moving and his roomies weren't down with reptiles.

​

Two very healthy Ball Pythons, and one very rough looking carpet he rescued.

​

Original owners of the carpet python apparently "thought it was a ball python", kept it in a 10 gallon with no heating, severely underfed him, and he had layers of stuck shed. He's supposedly 2 years old.

​

Buddy did several soaks, got off what he could. Carpet wasn't eating when he first rescued, so he had to be force fed. Buddy warned me that he was strikey.

​

When I received him a week or two ago, he was still skinny, still had a moderate amount of stuck shed, but he's eating great.

​

I've been doing smaller more frequent meals (every 3-4 days) I was doing fuzzies (since that's what I had on hand), I gave him a hopper last feed, which he gobbled up.

​

I'm going to try and pick up some rat pups today, since I believe they have higher fat content which I'm hoping will help plump this guy up.

​

Last night I noticed he got a good section of shed off himself, so I took some rubber gloves, dampened them, and helped him gently roll off the rest (he's almost 100% stuck shed free at this moment, so he looks A LOT better than he did just a couple days ago).

Just hoping to get any additional advice y'all might be able to offer, I tend more towards colubrids, and I've never had a snake in such rough condition- so any two cents is worth millions to me.

So, I've taken on two BPs from a buddy of mine who could no longer house them.

​

I recently moved into a new apartment and have a dedicated reptile room (I have 9 other snakes, mostly colubrids).

​

Buddy gave me his rack system (I intend to eventually get them moved into full enclosures). The setups seem good as far as a heated rack system can go.

​

Anyways, I've handled this larger one a couple of times and both times he's attempted to eat someone's hands (sorry to my poor fiancée 😢). The first time I get, buddy hadn't fed her for like 2-3 weeks. Well, I fed her a small rat a couple days ago and assumed she'd be as delightful as BPs tend to be!

Pic is the result. She hung out with me for a few minutes, wasn't defensively postured, and then started sniffing my hand like my Cali king does before trying to eat my hands.

Just wanted to see if I should maybe move up another feeding, or if you guys have any general advice for a hungry hungry python?

Haven't brought Valentino out and about downtown in quite some time (since he had a brief period where his tummy had the rumblies that only hands could satisfy). But today he was a perfect gentleman while exploring this beautiful city

Bought my sweet daughter some paper flowers and showed her round Pioneer square!

(Don't worry, I didn't let her drink from the bubblers, I know what people do with those 🤢)

Got this post taken down for "bullying" because I'm trying to post about a guy stealing a cat bowl and trying to go through our mail. Is all of Nextdoor like this? Are the mods in my local community just insane? What's bad about what I said?

So, I got this sweet little Cape House Snake (*Boaedon capensis*), a couple weeks ago, and I have a habit of not naming snakes until I get a feel for their personalities, but I've been struggling to come up with a great name for the new baby! She's very inquisitive, a bit nervous, and *very* intelligent.

Current ideas are:

* Mocha

* Tiamat

* Terra

* Dorothy

* Louis

I just wanna expand my options and see if anyone's got any bangers I haven't considered!
