The Redesigned 2027 Hyundai Tuscon

Hyundai Korea released the Tuscon with their new "Art of Steel" design language. The leaks/spy shots were very close to the final design. Looks like the new CN8 Avante/Elantra which is very polarizing. I'm digging the new style.

For us North Americans, we get to wait till 2028 to see this thing rolling down the streets!

'16 Accord Rear Deck Rust Repair Or Send it to Collision Shop for Repair Warranty?

Hey guys,

I have this 2016 Accord that I just noticed having rust on the L Rear Deck area. The area is where the L Rear Quarter meets the rear glass and trunk. I know this car has been in Florida/South Georgia for all of its life and was never near the ocean between me or my brother driving it. It also had a rear collision that was repaired by Gerber back in 2021 which is in the photos.

The rust is only on the L side, but the R side is perfect. Furthermore, the car doesn't have rust anywhere on the body or on the F/R subframes.

We also have another family member's Accord from the same generation and been in the same condition, but it doesn't have any rust in/on the body.

  • Could the collision itself cause the rusting (after many years)? Or if Gerber missed an area during the repair process to cause the rusting? I know they had to straighten out the L quarter panel and the L rain channel has "newer" brush marks for body sealer.
  • If neither, is this a common area for rust to occur on 2013-2017 Accords?
  • Also, where would the water leak into the area to rust the rear deck out?
  • And how would you stop the rust from spreading? I'm just more interested in stopping the rust from spreading?

Thank you all in advance!

2024+ Sonata August Update

Just got an email about a software update but haven't received it yet. Did anyone else get August's OTA update yet? Did anything change?

We're allegedly getting display themes for the ones with ccNC & Navi but someone on fb got their car bricked after it updated.

Restoring Car Model/Picture in ccNC system?

Hey guys,

I have a '24 Sonata with the ccNC system and happened to notice that the car doesn't show up anymore in drive modes or in settings anymore. It used to show up when I bought the car, but I think it must've got deleted when the DCU was reset recently. Does anyone have a way to restore the image/model? Thanks!

K5 vs Sonata Floor Mats

Recently, I got a set of DL3 (2021+) Kia K5 floor mats and decided to try them in the DN8 (2020+) Sonata. They pretty much fit but you can tell there are some differences in the floor plans between the sister cars.

The K5 rear floor mats are pretty much interference fit (length wise) in the Sonata. It's tight but the floor mats flex to fit in.

K5 driver front floor mats are wider than the Sonata's floor plan near the seat but fits perfect at the pedals.

K5 passenger front floor mats fit perfect.

Pretty much confirmed that the K5's longer wheelbase went to the rear passenger floor plan for legroom. I don't know why Kia's is wider than the Hyundai's in the front seating area but no visible difference there. Compared to the past models where the sister cars were almost identical, this generation's floor plan differed significantly.

Hyundai OE all-weather mats would hold more "stuff" as it has higher walls on the sides. Kia's OE all-weather mats are thicker throughout with almost no walls but uses deep grooves in its design to hold dirt in.

Negotiating Part Prices with Salvage Yards?

Hey guys!

I found parts for a family member's car on car-part.com from the local salvage yards but some of the prices are more expensive than what I can buy new from Honda (front fender, liner, and bumper; cosmetic damage with the frame measured & within spec). Is it normal to negotiate prices with salvage yards especially if I have to buy multiple parts from a car?

Do you also negotiate part prices from salvage yards if you're an autobody shop? Like is it a normal thing to do? Thanks!

Crowns vs High spots?

Hey guys,

I've been learning about PDR recently and I can't figure out the difference between crowns and high spots. Googling both just left me more confused. Do they both mean the same thing or is one referencing a specific case? Thanks!

A2141 LCD Panel Replacement Source

Hey guys, I have a 2019 Macbook Pro 16 inch (last of the intel's) a2141 and need to replace the screen. Where do yall find the LCD panels (just the LCD, not the complete screen w/ shell) that won't total out the laptop lol. I'm skilled enough to do it but I can't seem to find one at a decent price to justify replacing the screen of this laptop and ideally, I'd like to keep using this laptop since it still works.
