So traumatized after reading a psychological manhwa, pls recommend fulfilling shounen ai stories😭😭

At first I wanted a change of pace so I read a psychological bl manhwa but it contained heavily graphic scenes and I am traumatized 💔💔

Please recommend soft shounen ai stories (PLS NO SMUT😭😭**)** that is plot-heavy, fulfilling, shows genuine love, and isn’t stereotypical mainstream

These are some of my favorite shounen ai stories that I appreciate the most (though some stories are angsty and have violent elements, I loved how it was plot-heavy and fulfilling):

- Spinach bouquet (MY FAVE!!)
- You will hate me
- Best smell
- Someone else’s bl manhwa
- Peach and her papas
- Problematic leadership activities

Pls recommend shounen ai’s that healed you, I would really appreciate it🥲🥲

PS. I know spinach bouquet becomes r18 in the side stories, but its main story was pure shounen ai and I really loved the plot!!

How challenging is it to maintain the Santo Tomas Scholarship? (FOP Biochemistry)

Hello po, as the title suggests, how challenging is it to maintain the Santo Tomas Scholarship in biochemistry?

I’m a 50% scholar and I’ve read the scholarship contract last time that I could upgrade my scholarship to 75% (magna cum laude standing) or 100% (summa cum laude standing)

For STS scholars in biochemistry, mahirap po ba imaintain consistently ang dean’s list status considering that 30+ yung units sa biochem huhu😢😢

My enrollment in UST heavily depends on the scholarship + DOST scholarship, I would really appreciate any form of insights and tips to consistently reach the maintaining GWA for the scholarship 🥹

Thank you so much!!

Are “cold emails” also a common practice in the Philippines for lab internships/opportunities?

I’ve seen multiple posts on instagram that undergrads (freshman/sophomore standing) send hundreds of cold emails to laboratories inquiring if they are open for volunteer positions para may malagay silang experience for their resume.

I’ve actually seen some undergrads assisting PIs with their work, like real hands-on wet lab work (e.g. synthesizing crystals, purifying proteins, handling cell cultures, etc. during the summer) pero the catch is, these students are from other countries.

I was wondering if the Philippines (specifically Manila) follows a similar practice wherein undergrad students can apply for assistanceships, apprenticeships, or internships in laboratories that are outside of their curriculum.

I come from the province and will be undertaking my undergrad education sa Manila. Most certainly, hindi ganito yung practice sa province namin since hindi ganun karami ang labs, although, for Manila, laganap ba ang ganitong practice?

PS. I know that all—if not, most—undergraduate degree programs have practicum (internship) integrated in their curriculum, yung lab internships that I am referring to this post are voluntary positions in labs outside the curriculum usually ginagawa tuwing summer of freshie or sophie year

What opportunities does DOST scholarship offer other than financial aid? (Incoming 1st year biochemistry merit scholar)

Hello po, incoming biochemistry student here who has qualified for the merit scholarship! For DOST scholars who are currently taking biochem/chem, or chem-related programs, how has the DOST scholarship help you other than financial aid?

Was DOST able to offer you networking opportunities or maybe internships outside the curriculum that boosted your resume? Did being a DOST Scholar open doors for you for other opportunities in DOST, siguro mga symposiums, training sessions, etc.?

I would love to hear your stories! I hope to maximize my undergrad years as a biochemistry student, baka may mga opportunities within and outside DOST for biochem/chemistry students that I'm currently unaware of.

Thank you so much

How does Sto. Tomas scholarship renewal work, can I upgrade my 50% scholarship?

Hello! For context, I’m a STS grantee (50% discount) for top 2 students. I was reading the scholarship terms document earlier and nakasaad na kailangan makakuha ng specific grade range para sa defrayal ng total fees.

Does this mean if makakuha ako ng GWA ranging 1.20 to 1.00, ma-upgrade yung scholarship ko to 100%? Or does this mean 100% of my 50% discount?

Kumbaga:
The current defrayal for my tuition is around 40k since originally around 80k ang dapat babayarin

Hypothetically, if makakuha ako ng GWA of around 1.20 to 1.00, does this mean that the entire tuition fee for the succeeding term (80k) will be waived from my balance or does the 100% defrayal pertain to me retaining 100% of my initial discount of 50% (40k?)

And if I do achieve a GWA within the 50% threshold, does that mean na my scholarship will retain its current defrayal or fees or bababa siya like 50% of the 40k discount (meaning magiging around 20k nalang ang discount sa entire TF na babayarin ko for the next term?)

Medyo nakakalito yung clarification ko sana gets lang huhu😭💔💔

Are Metro Suites and Freedom D0rmitory (Recto) worth it for a solo dormer?

Helloo!! Incoming freshman here na nagdodorm hunting, I would like to ask past and current tenants of Metro Suites and Freedom D0rmitory (Recto) if worth it sila for a solo d0rmee?

Ito yung napansin ko:

Metro suites
- Monthly rent: 12k
- Cozy vibe, malaki na ang space, reasonable for its price
- Bawal magluto huhu 🫩
- Aircon not included
- Recommended by some here sa reddit
- Medyo paloob yung daanan and kalye vibes, medyo natakot ako (is it safe lang ba sa area na ito?)
- Located sa P. Noval Eloisa street so near Fusion Alley I’ve read here sa reddit na hindi daw worth it magstay sa mga places near fusion alley kasi it gets congested + maingay + prone to pests dahil maraming food stalls

Freedom d0rmitory
- Monthly rent: 13k
- Aircon included
- Cozy vibe also (As I’ve seen from the pictures)
- Medyo malayo sa UST (approx 20 minutes walk siya, is it commutable through jeep ba?)
- Wala ako masyadong nakikitang reviews about it dito sa reddit
- Bawal rin magluto augh😭

Sa mga tenants from these buildings, I would love to hear your insights about your experiences! And if may marecommend siguro kayong place na good for solo dormer for a reasonable price, I would also appreciate that 🥹

PS: Solo dormer po ako since ayaw ng magulang ko na mag roommate with other people because they want to visit me kapag may oras.

PS no. 2: I’ve checked A+ studios, North Forbes, and Luxe Suites pero wala na silang available units :((

Thank you so muchh po!!

“Hindi worth it ang Biochem sa UPM kasi underfunded” UPM seniors how true is this?

I hope to hear nuanced insights from UPM Biochem seniors/graduates

P.S. I chose Biochem as a research-related program, not a pre-med program

Recently, it has been revealed that UP Manila is the only PH university na lumagpas top 500 (top 447) sa global ranking. UPM has the edge of being the health sciences center of the UP system. I assume that one of the main factors as to why UPM achieved that rank is because of its ongoing prestige in healthcare education.

Taking this into perspective, and considering UPM Biochem as a separate entity from the white colleges, I am puzzled regarding the current state of Biochem as a research program, not a pre-med program.

I’ve been seeing numerous posts circulating online and words of mouth sa mga kakilala ko sharing that biochemistry in UPM is not worth it if I’m eyeing for a research-related and mas better if magpursue nalang ng mbb (molecular biology and biotechnology) or chem-related programs sa UPD or UPLB since doon concentrated and mas valued ang research.

I wasn’t really aware of this nung UPCAT application szn (about the strengths in different areas ng UP campuses). I chose biochemistry because it’s my dream program ever since JHS. I also applied for biochemistry in DLSU and UST although I sadly did not qualify for the SFA scholarship ng DLSU tapos the san lorenzo scholarship for biochemistry sa UST is not advisable since 30+ units per sem ang prescribed for biochem.

Masyadong mahal ang UST and DLSU so I’m not sure if ma-aafford ito ng fam ko since i’m also from visayas and we still have to consider my dorm, food, and daily expenses :((

For UPM Biochem students and graduates, masasabi niyo po bang worth it ang program and well-trained kayo for the real world and what’s in store after grad? Maeami po bang research-related opportunities (e.g. being able to publish your research, presenting in conferences, funded scholarships for international internships, etc.) despite the limitations sa laboratories?

[UPM] What to expect in Summer Bridging Program

I received two emails from UPM about the summer bridging program in math and science. I’m curious on what I should expect about the program. May online mode po ba last year? I’m not from Manila and I think hindi ako makapunta kapag July. It wasn’t stated naman sa email na required mag attend but I want to attend to get a gist of UPM’s course offerings in advance.

Also😓😓 may basis po ba yan sila sa pagsend ng emails? Both emails have the exact same content, they only differed on the subject that UPM suggests I should take. First is math and second is science. Does this mean na mababa yung score ko in both subtests during the upcat? Yung nakalagay kasi sa email “While your UPCAT results meet our admission standards, we invite you to further strengthen
your skills in…”
