Paint recommendations for brownstone steps

Looking for specific product recommendations for painting exterior brownstone steps. The steps have been painted in the past. 50% of the original material is exposed after scraping, however the rest of the paint remains. What do you recommend?

The rep at Benjamin Moore recommended Coro tech Command. However, that is an acrylic urethane enamel paint, and my research says that those can cause serious issues on brownstone because they are not breathable.

I also looked into mineral paints (Keith brand came recommended), however those appear to be formulated for bare masonry and don’t work well over existing paint.

I work in the trades and do a fair bit of interior painting. But I am not a painter and never paint masonry. So any assistance would be appreciated.

Mineral spirits not evaporating after stripping paint?

I am refinishing some old doors and exterior trim work. They were covered in 120 years of paint, stain, etc.

I sanded the parts that I could, but the had to use a stripper on the egg and dart molding.

I used Jasco brand paint and epoxy remover (the brush on stuff) and subsequently cleaned the treated section with mineral spirits as the product instructs. Then I left it to dry overnight (70 degree evening temps).

Next morning, the treated section is still very dark and wet looking. It’s a bit oily to the touch and of course smells like mineral spirits.

Is there a reason that it is not drying? Is time the only solution? Thanks in advance.

Seen in the wild

Went to a 4th of July cookout at a friends place, and their neighbor had just put up this beauty. Personally, I love everything about it

Hey Folks. I am looking for advice and opinions on the Dewalt 779 v 780.

Finally upgrading my saw, and Home Depot had deals on both of these right now. With the deals, the price difference between the two is $140… From what I can tell, the main difference is that the 780 has XPS technology and maybe is the only one that has bevel stops at 22.5 and 33 degrees (but I couldn’t verify that last point).

Can anyone confirm that the 779 lacks the additional bevel stops?

If you have the 780, what are your honest opinions on the xps light? My old saw doesn’t have a laser or light and I have done just fine. Do you find it saves you a lot of time or prevents a lot of errors?

For context: this saw will be used both in the shop and on job sites. I do a combination of framing, finish carpentry, and cabinet and furniture making. I probably do crown moulding 2-3 times a year. Typically I flip it over and use a nested jig- I rarely cut compound angles…

I think the 779 would suffice for my purposes, but it’s still not a small investment. So are the few extra features on the 780 worth the price difference?

Thanks in advance.
