Can we talk about the sheer difficulty of Norgan? 💀

I entered at level 79, and was quickly surprised by how tough the Beorcans are. I can absolutely take down a small group with my party. It's not easy, but I can get it done. But it's a completely different story when I find myself against a larger group, with more than three dire wolves and I don't kill them fast enough to stop them from calling reinforcements. I've been absolutely dog walked by Norgan and I think I am not even midgame yet. I had to retry the undead dragon boss fight a few times at level 90. Getting good gear is getting frustratingly difficult. All of the spoils I get are level 1. I still have no idea where I can enhance Norgandian gear. And the new gear I get from the Lost Rites are barely any good.

Saying level 40+ is recommended was complete bullshit. They definitely amped the difficulty which is what I've been anticipating the most. It's very frustrating, but I am also enjoying it.

How have you guys been faring in comparison? Also, got any good tips or pointers?

(Try to avoid spoiling if you can)

What's your top three most favourite parts, features or little details in Crimson Desert?

I am 41 hours into the game, not even past chapter 3 and this game keeps blowing my mind every day. I just can't stop talking about it. (Hopefully no spoilers... please don't spoil, I am begging you)

  1. Exploration as always, whether it's exploring the beautiful wilderness or busy towns that are both unbelievably alive with the abundance of diverse animals and people just doing their own thing as you pass by, and more importantly react to you. It's just breathtaking.

  2. I honestly think this game has one of the most fun, versatile and almost perfect combat systems. Unarmed combat sticks out to me the most and it certainely reminds me of the Batman Arkham games. Gotta love it when you can destroy a group of armed bandits with nothing but just hands, feet and finnese.

  3. The sound design in this game is absolutely wonderful. Like go to Pororin, take a stroll and just listen to how lively it sounds with the distant chatter of the Shai kids. It's also what makes me enjoy horse riding honestly. Horses stepping or galloping on logs or planks on the roads actually sound like wood, same with muddy roads after the rain that actually sound like mud. But why is eeirly quiet in the tavern tho?

How to get pets?

I just got the game, I am less than 10 hours into it, I've seen tons of animals already, and I've found out you can have them as companions or pets... I think. It's kinda scary coming here as I've been dodging spoilers like crazy since the game's release, but how do I even tame a dog for example? Is it something unlocked after a particular quest? I've just got this bird feeding item from a Shai kid I helped that it said I can use to increase my trust with birds.

World generation for Create Aeronautics

I am assembling a Create focused modpack, especially for Aeronautics. I just can't find a good terrain and world generation that leans more towards realisim, feels vast, and actually incentifies you to build an airship or a means of flight very early on. Still Life is the first to come to mind and I played around it for a while. I've been watching Flow's videos on YouTube lately and I think he mentioned somewhere that Still Life messes with Ore generation or something like that. I also recalling there being spawning issues with farm animals and other modded animal mobs, like Alex's mobs I think, when I used to play with this mod. Are there any alternatives? or has anyone even encountered issues with Still Life? If yes, is there a particular configuration or fix for it?
