Footage: can now watch the formerly dead human brain-robot play piano. I am ready for servitors

I just thought people might enjoy watching this. I am ready for servitors, honestly.

The paper (full video of the brain-piano-bot is in supplemental)

Finally got my shit together and posted my first landscape video

I have done portrait for a long time because I started on tiktok, and I was used it. I am moving to focusing on youtube primarily, and finally got it together.

These are longish content. Usually 4-8 minutes. But I am planning to continue making them longer. But my existing audience is used to the length. So I am slowing creeping longer. Landscape makes it easier to present.

I was worried because I am not used to making landscape content, and because my audience might not be on board with the the change because they mostly watch on phones. But it went okay.

Face in thumbnails: People have been complaining I don't use my face in thumbnails. I figured I'd deliver

Working on my thumbnail for my next video.

I am usually very against using my face in thumbnails because it isn't supposed to be about me. Yes I do make faced-content. But I would not if I was better at visual effects.

Either way, ask and you shall recieve. I plan to make funny faces in the corner till people admit it was a mistake.

Do you ever play antagonistic games with your audience ?

Should your face ever be the draw?

I really hate when people use their face in thumbnails making some dramatic-reaction-face.

I never include my face in thumbnails, but I do get a lot of comments saying people wouldn't have clicked except for the username.

Yes, this means I need to make my thumbnails better, but I am struggling to justify ever making me the draw.

What are your feelings on the cult of personality youtubers?

AI influencers are probably going to kill the internet all the way dead. It has been nice knowing people...

I think that bot traffic and bot writing was bad enough. But I am genuinly concerned about the optimization of views for ai content creation. Seemed like it was the last outlet to avoid bots. But here we are.

When you're popular, but not that popular. Big initial boost then death. Is this everyone's experiance?

Story of my account right now. Big initial boost and then crash. This happens consistently for my long form content. I have a rare video that grows nearly linearly for weeks, those are usually topics that are getting exclusively search traffic.

I know most of my content is not something that is searchable because its not something anyone knows about. I do brand new science news content. Sometimes obscure preprints. It is kind of my thing, but I think I need to go back to doing frequent science news posts because those do get continous interest from search.

I just hate it because I feel like it is information found anywhere.

One thing I try to avoid is giving my own opinions, because I can't support them with data. If I say something, I like it to be supported by primary sources and not just be a thing I said. However, people ask for my own views a lot, and I am trying to get comfortable sharing it. I think that would make just 'news' content more palatable either way.

But yeah, is the initial boost and then death normal for all? Is this just what youtube is like? I've only done this for couple of years.

We did it. Necromancy. Taking post-mortem brain parts and operating a learning robot

Do you think this will lead to whole brains? More functional robots?

Experiance with mirtazapine in cats

This is all under close vet guidance. I wanted to ask about experiances from other owners too.

Hi, my kitty is 5 and she had bladder stones and had to have emergency surgery. She had it and is recovering but isn't eating enough. She was put on mirtazapine to help her appetite, and improve mood. Vet thinks she is traumatized from the whole ordeal.

I am hoping her appetite will come back once she is off the antibiotics. She had been put on 2 weeks of horrible bubblegum flavored amoxicillin.

Has anyone used mirtazapine? Was it good longterm? Did you see any side effects?

We started on a tiny dose and have slowly titrated up to the therapeutic dose as I monitor for side effects. Her first day she had tremors and I had to take her off tramadol because vet worried about interactions.

She seems to be improving a lot. Just little appetite. Right now she is allowed to eat whatever she wants as long as she is eating and we will transition her to the urinary only diet.

I just ordered critical care kitty calorie rich treats.

TLDR: Did mirtazapine work for you in the long term? Did anything go wrong?

Poster age: adult

Cat: female spayed age 5

Location: US

Vet care: a great deal

Financial status: Whatever it takes

I know my hair is damaged. I have been fighting having wavey hair mt whole life. This is the result of air drying it. I had brushed it out so so much and I looked in the mirror and it went POOF.

Is it that I need to take a good 6" off? Why isn't it curly on my head? I get the ends. I imagine that is accumulated damage. What do I do with this?

I know, i probably shouldn't wear black. This was af a gala. I do not wear dresses because I feel like i look insane in them.

I think i qualify as a dramatic. I'm 5'7" with an inseam more than half my height and a wingspan more than my height with 17" shoulders. So I am built like a coat rack. I just felt I looked very awkward this year. I do like the black and white pallette. I actually designed the shoes I'm wearing hear because I couldn't find spectators in a boot without zippers and zippers kill the vibe.

Should I consider other colors and structures for my suits? Should I finally just try and wear a dress? I hate them. A lot.

I was thinking a muted dusty rose next year.
