What colour would chips on green DA armour be?

Planning on testing a DA scheme tonight. I want to try using chipping medium.

It creates a layer between the base coat and the top coat so you can reveal the base coat by scratching away at the top coat.

What colour would be best for the undercoat? I think either something like Rhinox Hide, or a bright green. Maybe the bright green chips could have some black painted into the middle?

Could I get some feedback on this rusty scheme? (Very early WIP)

Specifically the armour. The shoulder trim, weapons, accessories etc aren't touched yet. I'll add another brighter silver highlight too.

This seems to be the ceiling of my painting ability. What stands out as an obvious improvement to be made?

Painting is something I really want to be good at. It's taken me around 18 months to get here. I'm happy with what I have as tabletop standard or maybe slightly above, but I'd like to be able to improve and I don't know what to focus on.

I prefer volumetric highlights over edge highlighting so I use my airbrush for that. I seem to get better results drybrushing the details with a tiny drybrush rather than highlighting them the normal way. The gun here hasn't been painted yet.

I feel like I paint by numbers without any artistic style and I'd appreciate feedback from fresh eyes.

Wazdakka did a little something with the titan he took down...

I plan on giving Wazdakka a Warlord titan head for his base. He had other ideas for the fist.

I saw another dude with something similar in this subreddit a few days ago. Shoutout to you if you see this 🤙🏼

First Ork i'm happy with!

This is the first ork I've painted that I've actually liked. My first orks were some snaggaz that I gave up on and sold, and more recently some Kommandos that I couldn't get to grips with.

I decided to open up this box of wreckaz and enjoyed painting this dude 100x more than any other. Painting ork armour is so much more fun than cloth or leathers.

I was so close to giving up on orks entirely, but now I have a scheme I like, i'm going all in 🤟

How does this look for a goffs scheme?

I'm dying to get an ork army rolling but painting skin and organic details is so foreign to me. This is speedpainted skin with a few touchups. I'm torn between speedpaint + grime for ease, or knuckling down and really learning to paint volumetrics on the skin and muscles.

Always struggling with Orks. How can I improve?

This is probably my 4th attempt at starting an Ork army. I really wanted to go for a bright punchy red Evil Sunz scheme and build them around lots of vehicles and maybe Wazdakka.

Every time I try to paint them I always find myself wanting to slap streaking grime all over them because I find it impossible to make my orks look refined. It's much easier to grime them up and not worry about the mistakes.

Am I missing anything fundamental here? This is a WIP, I was planning on rusting up the weapons, and there are a few minor details unpainted.
