Confession: I'm grateful for something not often talked about, what about you? (CW: rape, pregnancy)

Hey y'all, so as it's hinted at in the title I've been doing some heavy reflecting on my hysterectomy now that it's been almost 6 months.

I got a hysterectomy because I have endometriosis and it has improved my pain levels which was the whole point of the hysterectomy. It might be pertinent to mention I am in the USA because of what I'd like to talk about - one of the things I have been grateful for post-surgery is that I can no longer become pregnant due to rape. For a multitude of reasons, but one of those reasons being that reproductive care is under attack.

I was writing about this and found myself wondering - is this common? Do others feel this way, or am I unique/paranoid/whatever adjective you'd like?

Thanks for reading, hopefully you'll share your perspective. I don't think there's a right or wrong here, just curious about how others feel on this topic.

Help me figure out how to get ALL of my hair curly/happy? 😩

Porosity: Medium to High porosity

In photo: damp hair post shower, no products

My suspicion: I have multiple kinds of hair. 1/3 bottom is 3b ringlets, 1/3 middle is 2c/b waves, 1/3 top is dry dry big 3a ringlets. The top of very thin, with thickness increasing each layer down.

Other: my hormones are changing as I’ve had a hysterectomy and that’s definitely changed my hairs thickness if nothing else (post op 6 months) - if it’s relevant I’m 34.

Shower routine:

  1. Rosemary & biotin shampoo, Pattern light shampoo, pattern light conditioner

Or

  1. Pattern cleansing shampoo & pattern light conditioner

Products I’ve used (all individually not together), best to worst:

  1. Pattern curl gel
  2. Not Your Mothers Curl Mousse
  3. Shea smoothie cream

I’m thinking I might need to use different products for each section of my hair? Maybe I need to switch from pattern? Any ideas?

Ulta Empties Review: SKIN1004 Centella, Medicube, Celimax - combination sensitive skin

Reviews:

6/10 Skin1004: The Centella makes me break out unfortunately, not horribly but enough that I felt what’s the point. After two months of use still caused small break outs I stopped.

- Foam Ampoule: this was my favorite out of the batch, didn’t make me break out and left my skin feeling pretty good
- Toner: I don’t think it did anything and that’s the reason I got the medicube later
- Oil cleanser: made my sebum on chin even worse
- Ampoule oil: I think the main culprit for breakouts
- calming lotion: idk it was okay

0/10 medicube zero pore pads: I know folks love this but it made me break out BAD. My chin being the main reason I got these, and after one use I got massive breakouts that looked almost like cysts. If you have sensitive skin I do not recommend.

10/10 celimax dual barrier cream: after the medicube killed my skin barrier I went back to basics and this thing is now my holy grail. It helped heal my chin and my skin looks sooo much better in general now. I’m in love to the point I’m considering buying more celimax products.

Current routine:

AM: water, once a week Ji Woo Gae Heartleaf BHA Peeling Pad, celimax cream, sunscreen

PM: La Roche Posey sensitive skin, Anua azaelic acid and either the celimax or Ren overnight balm

My skin is healing and much happier than it’s been in years.
