Davide Ancelotti's wife said on her social media that she has been receiving abuse from Brazilian supporters because of a gesture made by Carlo Ancelotti's assistant and son when forward Neymar came on against Scotland at the World Cup.

According to the posts, Davide appeared to shake his head in disapproval. However, according to ge, the gesture was not directed at Brazil's No. 10, but was part of a conversation with assistant coach Paul Clement, who was sitting to Davide's left (to the right from the viewer's perspective in the video above).

-"You know you're completely misinterpreting an image that has absolutely nothing to do with reality, and because of that I've been receiving countless insults since this morning. We are the first ones who want Brazil to win," wrote Spaniard Ana Galocha.

The video shared by Ana with that interpretation came from the account O Mundo da Bola, with the following caption: "Carlo Ancelotti's son gives Neymar a dirty look and shakes his head in disapproval while Neymar receives instructions before coming on."

In the full video, however, Davide stands up moments later and greets Neymar before he enters the pitch (video at the top of the article).

Davide has been working as his father's assistant for years. In 2025, he had his first job as a head coach, managing Botafogo between July and December of that year. After the World Cup, the Italian will take charge of Lille in France.
