Box squat

I cant squat for a mysterious reason so I tried to do box squats the other day since I don’t have to go to depth and put too much stress on the problem area but i kinda don’t know what I’m doing

side effects from stopping meds

I didn't stop on purpose, I just ran out and the health services at my university wouldn't answer the phone and my dumbass kept forgetting to submit an online request so now it's been a few days since I last took my pill (only 50mg)
I'm not sure if these are the "brain zaps" people talk about but I get these random moments of sudden dizziness that only lasts like a second and I feel kinda sick and sluggish all day. This isn't the first time I've ran out and had these symptoms from it, its happened 3 times because I'm very forgetful and struggle with taking initiative on shit like this
I actually feel ill I just kinda wanna take a nap but I have things I need to do. Idk, anybody relate or has any advice to deal with this until I get my prescription back? I'm super annoyed with myself that I keep letting this happen

strength training plan

Right now I do the following, typically 2x a week, sometimes 1 if im feeling extra weak & tired & don’t want the effects to interfere with actual boxing training
When im lifting I do the following routine that I put together based off advice of random s&c coaches I found on instagram
Upper body push, upper body pull, squat movement, hinge movement. So for example day 1 I would do bench press, pull-ups, lunges, hip thrust and day 2 I would do shoulder press, rows, Bulgarian split squats, and Romanian deadlifts. 3 sets of each using a weight heavy enough to keep me in the 5-8 rep range
The thing is I genuinely love pushing myself to failure and im really enjoying how much stronger I’m getting. Only recently did I become able to do pull-ups
I don’t want to overdo it and add too much but I have been wanting to add an extra day of lifting just because I wanna get stronger cuz getting strong as a woman is really cool and awesome. If it’s too much to do 3x a week then obviously I wont do it and will prioritize boxing but I wanted peoples opinions on my routine and also if it would be stupid of me to add an extra day of lifting

Confused about pullups

Ive just recently been able to do pullups (right now I’m doing neutral grip as I’m not strong enough to do multiple reps of regular ones yet but I am getting there), i only count it as a rep if I’ve fully pulled myself up but idk if I need to go ALL The way down after. In this clip I’m keeping a bit of tension in my shoulders before the next rep but the other half of the time i go all the way down. Which is better for gaining strength?
And any other tips/critiques welcome

Making progress with my camera obscura

Got 3 different cameras going now. Trying to do longer exposure times, then I do a bath in water and vinegar and store in a box with silica gel packets. What I want to do in the future is take scans of these, then print them onto transparency film, and then take a regular Cyanotype print of that so that I end up with a positive image in the end but still through 100% Cyanotype methods but right now I don’t have access to a printer I can put transparency film in

Bulgarian split squat

I aim for sets of 4-6 reps but I find that my upper body is way easier to do with correct form, when I use a weight for my legs that’s heavy enough that I can’t do more than 6, I slightly feel it in my lower back but then if I go down in weight I have to do like 8-10 reps before I’m feeling it. I’m trying to maximize my strength so I wanna keep the reps low and weight high

Being a woman in my sport

Im a boxer (no fights yet :/ but im working at it) and yesterday I did some sparring with the guys, I was the only woman there out of like 9 of us sparring and it sucks that I can have much more experience and training and still get easily bested by a male solely because he’s a male. I know that we like to act like we’re just as strong but it’s really not true. I have 4 years of (non-continuous) experience but like a male is just biologically stronger and faster than me and there’s nothing I can do about it. I really don’t like the argument that I see some women try to make that the reason sports are segregated by gender is because men don’t want to be beat by us. A male will come out on top against a woman 99% of the time and that’s OKAY, it doesn’t make us worse athletes, just different. and when we try to lie to girls/women and tell them that they’re just as strong all it’s gonna do is make them feel bad when they inevitably come up short. When I was little i could beat all the boys at arm wrestling and any type of foot race but as soon as we started going through puberty that all changed. Anyways. Refried beans and fried egg on corn tortilla with avocado and homemade salsa verde (which is more roja because I used a red onion and didn’t add cilantro)

Edit: i think im exaggerating how badly they beat me. i tend to be very hard on myself, i did okay when i actually think about it lmao

I unfortunately can’t speak French (I already feel terrible about this don’t worry) and so the job options are slim and ive seen on indeed some postings for jobs that don’t require French (pizza chef and stuff like that) but I feel like if I just apply on indeed my resume is getting sent into a black hole. I was thinking I should find out who’s hiring and then go in person and inquire about jobs. I’m open to literally anything - cook, baker, dishwasher, janitor, etc. Also if I wanna apply for the chef/baker positions I have no formal experience but I’m a good home baker/cook so would it help me to have a “portfolio” of sorts to show them? Idk I’m so lost, was gonna go to the hojo office on campus and ask them for advice but it’s closed this week

Trying to make the sakura skirt by mei knits. This yarn is labeled worsted but it’s a lot thinner than any worsted yarn ive ever used so I thought it would be good for this skirt which uses dk or light worsted yarn. I tried first with the recommended 4mm needles but it was not even close to 10cm across, so I switched to 4.5mm and still was not close. This swatch was done on 5mm needles and as u can see I got almost 10cm across, but then it’s 13cm vertically when it’s supposed to be 10x10cm. Im so frustrated because I was set on using this yarn 🥲 would I be making a mistake if I went ahead and used it anyways? I’m thinking since it’s a skirt, and the problem is my swatch is longer than it’s supposed to be, it isn’t that big of a deal since skirts are pretty free flowing things but it also has like short row shaping (which ive never done before) and stuff so idk. Any advice appreciated ❤️

So ive built a camera obscura with a shoebox and a magnifying glass lense and I have varying success with it. Honestly I don’t really know what the common factors are between me getting a good result and me getting a bad result, exposure time is a total mystery to me, I just set up my cam, wait a bit, and hope for the best. Any tips would be lovely :]
