Best cheap hood for confined spaces?

Hey all im looking to get a hood that fits closely to my head without shelling out for a speed glass. I usually use a cheap Jackson hood with a fixed shade and I like it fine but it's a bit too bulky for some of the welds I do. Im hoping to spend $100 or less ideally. Tyia!

Cheap all weather recs for a 2016 Leaf?

Hey all I recently bought a 2016 Nissan leaf and I'm looking to replace the tires. I have cross climate 2s on my other car and love them but im hoping to spend less on the leaf, anyone got any recommendations for a somewhat similar tire that costs significantly less?

Looking for part number

Hey all I recently bought a 2016 leaf and im wondering if its possible to replace the front facia clips that mount to the bottoms of the lights? I can't seem to find the individual part for sale or on the Nissan site. Its the hard white plastic bracket that mounts to the bottom of the light and provides a spot for the front facia to clip into. Ive included a picture of the full front light assembly with an arrow pointing at the part I'm wondering about. TYIA!

Ferrari brings back the gated manual

Exciting to see, but the fact that there is no mechanical linkage between any of the components makes me wonder if it’s just a numb gimmick:

“The shifter and clutch pedal have no actual connection to the gearbox, instead sending signals electronically via what Ferrari calls "Manuale by Wire" to tell the transmission what you want to do.”

Looking for beanie recs for hot weather?

Im looking to pick up a few new beanies and I'm trying to find something that breathes in this heat and can be machine washed. Anyone have any favorites before I go buy something random?

Are the p100 2097 filters sufficient for welding stainless?

Ive got a 3m half mask that I usually use 2097 filters with. I just started a job where we basically only do stainless and im curious if this set up is sufficient?

What tools are people using to cut 1/8"+ stainless filler rod?

I just started a job doing a lot of stainless and my old mig pliers aren't working so well for some of the bigger filler rods. Thinking of getting some 9" diagonal cutters but im curious if people have other/ better solutions. Tyia!

Looking for better clamps/jig for tacking tube butt joints

Just started at a place where we weld a lot of tube. One of my coworkers uses the pictured pair and the suck so bad. Some people use home made tools using angle welded to vice grips but they're super hit and miss. Pls help

Edit for some more context: I'm working with high purity stainless and mostly working with 1/2"-3". I need air tight fit ups to prep pieces for orbital welding

Best pocket scissors?

Hey all! Im curious what people like for a pair of scissors you can put in your pocket? I recently started a new job welding high purity stainless tube and I swear I cut a million pieces of tape every day. Pocket knife works OK but thinking a pair of small scissors would be better. Thinking about a c4 vs a 986 boxster. What's your experience maintaining your c4?

As the title says I'm thinking about c4s vs 986. Im hoping to do a lot of work and maintenance myself. Im curious how friendly the c4 is to DIY and how available parts are. Also very curious if anyone's owned or worked on both what your experiences have been. Tyia!

C4 vette vs 986 boxster cost of maintenance

Hey all! Ive been shopping and dreaming about a project car and both old c4s and 986s have caught my eye. Im planning on test driving both soon but im curious to hear what maintenance is like for both. Is one more diy friendly? Is it easier or cheaper to get parts for one or the other? If oem parts are hard to come by are there good after market parts available? I don't plan to do any big mods but just want to keep a cool old car running. TYIA!!
