These fucking piece of shit scam artists. I have multiple stories but I just want to share the current issue with them. I thought I washed my hands clean of these cock suckers two months but no.
Our lease was ending on a 2023 Toyota Camry. Long story short, we decided to buy it. We were paying the residual in full and they said to come on in. They allowed us to pay $3500 through the Amex and we gave a personal check for the remaining $14,xxx. All done. We go home and wait for title and be done. Check went through on 3/2
Couple weeks later , Toyota says payment past due. We reach out to financial dude and he says sometimes a takes a couple weeks. Since we have damn near perfect credit, we pay the monthly payment. So now we took their word and figured we would get a refund for the extra month we paid. Ok all done.
Couple weeks later, Toyota says we need to return the car or make arrangements to buy it. I explain we already bought it, what are they talking about? Account still open and no payoff payment received. After a lot of calls and bullshit they say Toyota lost the check and the will overnight a new one. The send the check out 4/14, tracking shows delivered 4/16, Autonation says TFS cashed check 4/20 and account is closed. Fine, we’re done and I can put the idiots in the rearview and wait for title and never see the fuckers again.
A few days ago, wife says Toyota sent a text saying monthly payment past due. We shouldn’t have a payment, lease has matured last month and money was sent. That’s when Autonation replied about the closed account and check cashed. Then today I receive a text asking for payment. I call TFS and they say account is open and no payoff funds received. I explain that the dealership said they overnighted the check and they said you guys cashed it 4/20. TFS says they overnighted to the wrong address and may have credited the wrong account or because they sent it to the wrong address that it’s working its way through the system. I don’t know, it’s so confusing now. I don’t know wha to do. I hate these fuckers so much right now. I don’t feel like proof reading this but hopefully spelling and grammar is good enough.

Also, if you live in CA you can deal directly with manufacturers for lease buyouts. We didn’t know that.
