The a different world reboot has a black on black queer romance in it. As excited as I am, I just hope they present it as openly romantic as they do the straight romances. (No dl hidden storylines and no pumpfaking so they can make it IR). Also I just want our hbcu queer experience on the show to not be a Tyler Perry special or a cautionary tale.

So I went out to the outlet mall in Texas this weekend because my mom was looking for particular store and I had no inclination that I would be buying a doll until I went into the Disney Store. So they had three limited edition dolls one was yzma the other was Esmeralda and the other one that I was more so thinking about getting was Mother Gothel, however there was only one misma and the other limited edition dolls were like six or seven in store. However, I was really really really, contemplating getting the Esmeralda doll just because she's so gorgeous, but I ended up getting yzma. I really had no plans on getting a doll tbh but here we are. So before you ask my mom bought two of this exact doll it was on sale at TJ Maxx or DD's and she's just had it sitting in storage for the last couple of years and I needed to get something from her storage saw this and asked her if I could take one of them and she'll just keep the other one so I now have this Barbie extra doll that I've been really really wanting to own because she looks like Shea Coulee from drag race and because she's just such a fun and gorgeous doll I love her alien Y2K maximalism aesthetic so I will be unboxing very soon

In Celebration of Pride 🌈 I wanted to briefly talk about a book that I have been dying to read by Rasheed Newson it is called "There is only one sin in Hollywood" and although I'm only two chapters into it I'm having a good time with it. This book is about a Hollywood fixer that recounts the tawdry tales of one of Hollywood's it guys what it took to become that it guy and what eventually led to his downfall. One of the reasons why I really thoroughly enjoyed Rasheed Newson is that he webs reality with some fictitious sounding or feeling stories and it kind of reads like a mockumentary that has a lot of heart soul and thought behind the characterizations. Are there any books that you guys are excited to try out for this month?
