Leviathan Wilds - Do you have to use the full effect of a card?

"Dig In" says "Any climber may strike 1, gain 1 grip, and anchor."

I have a character by a green crystal and striking 1 would kill them. Could I just gain grip and anchor instead?

Any solo games like Beast?

I really like the vibe of playing as a monster and having to plan out your moves to stay hidden until you are ready to fight. Are there any games like that?

Or if not, any games where you play as a monster and get more powerful as the game progresses? Keep the Heroes Out is on my radar but I can't find much else.

Sell me on Shadowrun: Crossfire - Prime Runner Edition

This game looks pretty fun and has mechanics I would enjoy. The one thing that turns me off is the legacy component. Can this game be reset or do you have to deface some boards/cards as you play through it? What did you like or dislike about this game?

No push notification from PMs?

It's only DMs. I still get notified from everything else. The setting is enabled in both X and my phone.

PSA: Gamefound's Express Crowdfunding Charges You Immediately (and refunds can be a hassle)

After witnessing Entropy's drama I figured this might be a useful reiteration for those who use Gamefound.

Express crowdfunding was introduced back in February and offered a method for creators to advertise a project that is set to release regardless of how much funding it gets. This means that backers get these board games much faster and more reliably because development is essentially finished.

A lot of Gamefound users are familiar with pledging on the first day of release and then adjusting their pledge however they would like throughout the period of the campaign. Because express crowdfunding charges you immediately, you are unable to decrease (or cancel) the contents of your pledge without contacting the developer. You can, however, add to it as much you want.

Visual differences between an express crowdfund campagin vs a normal one: It will say Express Crowdfunding in the top and the bar that shows total funding will not have a threshold. If you try to pledge, you will be charged immediately and asked for your shipping address. Apparently, developers can edit notes in this area about refunds and such (Board&Dice adjusted theirs after refusing refunds).

Entropy's Situation: Board&Dice initially outright refused all refunds to their campaign. After general negative reception to that decision and multiple users pointing out Gamefound's rules and country laws, they have since released another statement promising to fully refund all requests. They have stated each refund costs them about 8% the value of the pledge.

TLDR: Express crowdfunding holds more closely to a traditional pre-order (though you probably have less comsumer rights). You will get charged immediately and may be deducted a small fee if you choose to refund.

Many Realms "Preorder" Experience?

Just ordered multiple games that are on pre-order but have already been released a while back. Do preorders in this case mean that the store has access to stock and just needs to get it shipped to them first or is this something that can result in a delay for months?

What's the difference between these two versions of Leviathan Wilds box art? Are they different editions?

One looks older than the other.

Why is this sweep off center?

Just followed a video for how to use sweep with the helix function. The shape generally spawns adjacent to the helix line, but it's offset for some reason.

All-in-One Box-Stand 2.0 for Marvel Champions!

Previous thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelchampionslcg/comments/1syksj9/i_made_an_allinone_box_with_upgraded_accessories/

I'd first like to thank everyone for their interest and support! BGG even featured version 1.0 in their monthly video and their landing page! 😄

I wasn't expecting this level of engagement and am totally stoked by it. Many have messaged me asking if they are able to buy this, so I am pleased to announce that I plan to open an Etsy shop selling the physical product (and some other stuff)! I'll talk more about that later but let's see what's new!

- I think the most obvious thing if you have seen the previous thread is that I upgraded the lid! It now features a colored version of the MC logo so that it won't be looked over while you (or your friend group) are browsing the shelves.

- The box now holds four deck boxes (as opposed to the previous six). I made this decision because 1.0 was an absolute chonker, and it also had a lot of open space I wasn't quite sure what to do with. I initially started this project to make something more compact, and six felt unnecessary for me (especially considering the game plays with four people, and you can fit extra decks in the encounter card container). Box 2.0 also fits in my smaller backpack, which was my original goal.

- Deck boxes are slightly bigger to account for some heroes having extra cards and to accommodate thicker sleeves.

- I unified the card stands. Instead of three, they now consist of the same piece that you just have to turn depending on where you would like to place it (on the side of the box, the bottom, or on the table). The piece then slides into a slit in the box and holds things without jiggling or falling off. The d20 holders do the same thing and can be slotted into the card stands.

After seeing the interest and deciding I would give an Etsy shop a try, I struggled with decreasing the amount of post-processing work required. I previously used magnets to hold every piece. First, that was a ton of magnets and a lot of gluing. Second, it was easily knocked off. The new method is both secure and built directly into the box, so zero post-processing work is required!

- The d20s holders also used to be two different types and are now unified into one.

- Token holder has been upgraded to hold the first player token securely. I plan to have an option to buy it separately on Etsy with its own lid.

- The status tags now have a cute little home! There is room for nine of them, but I'm not sure which nine I should do. Suggestions?

- The lid on the extra card container now transforms into an encounter deck holder with the help of the tray that houses the card stands.

So, to summarize, here are ALL the features of 2.0:

- Four deck boxes that include d20 holders to track health and stats
- Dice holder
- Token holder with upgraded status tokens and ready markers
- Card container (for encounter cards, extra decks, etc.)
- Lid for card container that transforms into an encounter deck holder
- Modular card stands
- d20 holders
- Boss card stand with status banners
- Status banner and acceleration token holder
- Colored lid (yay)
- And of course, the box-stand!

Now about that Etsy shop! It will be open by the end of July, but I am hoping for the beginning instead to correlate nicely with Fear No Evil's release. I am still figuring out shipping logistics and pricing. I've linked my social media below, so be sure to follow for updates if you are interested in purchasing (or want to see future projects)! I will also make another post when the time comes.

Stonesaga vs Paleo vs Unsettled

Looking for a crunchy survival adventure-ish type game and came up with these.

Which do you prefer and why? Are expansions worth it? Is gameplay clunky or flows smoothly?

BGG's Ex-Advertising Manager's Response to Being Fired

Edit: I removed my initial statement here to let people draw their own conclusions but some are not understanding why I posted it in the first place.

Chad openly admits to talking about his faith at work. This has an implication that BGG knew and took a passive position. BGG should address this.

Edit: Hot damn this took so long to approve I thought it would just stay in the ether.

I don't care about what happens to this guy. I want to know how BGG is going to avoid instances like these in the future.

He has been posting hate on BGG itself and social media since 2008. Comments about trans people being demons and being intolerant of gays is completely unacceptable.

Can't enable wipe tower for manual filament change? (MK4S)

Using prusa slicer.

How do I do this? I went to Printers>General>Capabilities and set Extruders to 2 and checked single extruder multimaterial. I added a color change in the gcode as well as "M600" to the toolchange gcode.

My issue is that there is a portion of protruding filament as the nozzle is lowering right after the filament change and it always messes up the first layer of the color change.
