Sourdough Starter

I have many recipes that use sourdough starter in them.

Our starter is

• 1 part flour

• 1 part water

I could simply make a recipe with these ingredients, but is there anyway to indicate the fermentation/natural yeast?

I also want to be able to be able to put in my roll recipe and not have it show flour twice, but flour once and starter once.... Is this a thing?

I've used cronometer a long time but don't typically consume my baked goods

Women, Nudism and periods?

My husband and I just had our 1st visit to Tiger Mountain Nudist resort. Was just a day pass, and we only saw 6 other people the whole 9 hours we were there.

It was our first outing into Nudism outside our home. And we are already looking into possible other outings.

My biggest concern after booking the day pass was my period. Thankfully it didn't come up during the day trip but I'm wondering what others do.

For context, my period is NOT regular. It can come as early as 2 weeks after the prior one ends or as late as 8 weeks. And when it comes it's heavy. Everyday I carry a little satchel that has pads, tampons, and spare underwear in it. I carry this daily to make sure I'm never caught unprepared, and to be honest, many coworkers have been caught and needed assistance over the years.

When in Nudist resort or event what do others do?

Let me say up front I want to be fully hygienic, so free bleeding is automatically a hard no. I understand carrying around a towel to sit in but still no.

I thought about a Tampon, so I could still swim, hot tub, etc. but I've always had issues if not wearing underwear on my string "dropping" between my thighs then twisting and pulling tampon down/partially out as I move around.

I thought about a pad, but that requires underwear and would not allow for any water time.

I thought about a menstrual cup, but when visiting Tiger I noticed it would not be a convenient or good option as you're supposed to dump (in toilet) and rinse cup before reinserting. The sinks were not close to the toilet and bathrooms we used at least, were not a single stall.

Ladies please give me your experience and expertise.

Walking Sandals, work appropriate AND Wide?

I work in an office and have to dress between Business Casual and Full on Business Professional.

On breaks and lunch I change shoes and go walking. During the winter it's the back stairwell no one uses, nice days it's outside. With it getting hotter I'm wearing more dresses and skirts, they are breezier. I'd love to find a shoe I can wear during work so I don't have to change before heading out.

Sometimes my break is only 5 minutes before a meeting, so changing shoes back and forth can be a hassle.

Needs:

• Supportive for Walking and being on feet for a large portion of day

• Nice enough to be considered business casual or professional

• Can fit a wide, I mean WIDE foot. My regular walking shoes are usually between D-E in width.

Oh I'm in the US, not sure if that matters. I've googled and then ordered several on Amazon. All have been returned due to not being wide enough. I figured I'd anyone had a recommendation it would be this group!

Water Drink Reminder

Our 7 almost 8 yr old is being treated for abdominal pain through 2 different specialties. Ongoing endeavor, not looking for medical advice but am looking for mom help.

Last year in Kindergarten, she was great at drinking both her water bottles. I would drop off at before care around 7a and pick up after school program around 4:15pm. She takes a 14 oz and 16 oz water bottle to school/before/after care.

This year it has been a struggle getting her to finish 1. I understand she is "busier" in 1st grade, but it's really boiling down to her. The teacher helps as much as she can, for example instead of singling out our daughter she asks the entire class to grab water bottles when heading to recess. But it's not her job to make sure our child is drinking enough, and she needs to be able to teach.

We have had numerous conversations about the importance of water, not just for her medical issues, but for healthy body overall. Tried to stress it being her "job" to drink while at school and pay attention to her body for bathroom time.

I was trying to find something to remind her to take a drink at regular intervals. We can't have any flashing lights in the classroom, so the water bottle "reminders" that flash won't work. I saw a bracelet watch combo that you could set to vibrate, however, our school only allows non-smart watches in the lower grades.

I would love any suggestions! If a product would appreciate the link, I know there are many similar but not the same types of products especially for children.

We need something that helps when the family is not around to tell her "drink"

I've listed a few things we already tried below that failed

- sticker chart for each successful day

- sending 1 water bottle and having refilled

- sending 2 full water bottles

- rewards system i.e 5 days finished in a row = new coloring book, reading book, her choice of a few different rewards

- tried hair tye trick, put hair tye or band on current bottle, moved it to a new one when finished

- tried decorating water bottles

- changed from chug style to straw style

- tried frozen fruit, or flavored water

- got sling, so easy to carry when not in backpack

Thank you for your suggestions!

Edit to address some reoccurring concerns in comments:

Yes this Water amount is Dr recommended, we thought crazy at first too. So got second medical opinion from different organization, and they agreed.

She is currently being treated by 2 different specialties within a child specific hospital.

The increased water is essential for some of her medications.

Her teachers both this year and last year have been amazing with her medication changes, access to the restroom and making sure she always has her water bottle, even in locations they would not typically allow water.

The staff are trying, but they also need to be able to teach their lesson plan, and assist other kids in the classroom.

We are NOT putting all the responsibility on their shoulders, but looking for suggestions on how we could remind/encourage her on her own.

Firing range with handguns for trialing

We are seasoned gun owners, have CPL and follow gun safety.

My husband's main carry handgun no longer works for our family for personal reasons.

For his birthday I'd like to pay for him to go to a gun range that has various handguns available he can trial

How a gun fits into your hand is important, as is the recoil , understanding how that gun fired and "feels" can make or break the relationship. Ultimately I want him to be able to handle and trial the firearms to find one that feels the best for him and would work for us.

I've googled but can't find anything close ish. I know there are several locations in Spokane but don't want to send him back all the way over there if it is avoidable.

Any tried and recommended locations?

Kids Music Experience, Lawn Concert?

I grew up out of the area and had some great experiences as a kid. Now with kids of our own who are getting to be old enough to sit through a performance I'm looking to give them some experiences too.

I'm looking for some of the experiences I had as a kid but it doesn't seem to be a thing here in Western WA, is that true? Or Am I just searching for the wrong areas/words?

- local community college (still 1.5 hr drive from home) had an outdoor theater. Sold theater seats and lawn seats. My family would always buy the lawn seats. I think I was 10 when they did The Sound of Music and sang while coming down through the audience.

- outdoor concert arena that also sold lawn seats. Mom would take us kids. We got to hear a small rock band, country, even a classical concert one time. (They STILL do this it's about $30/ea now days).

A nice thing about lawn tickets is your not confined to a small seat, it's okay to have the wiggles. It's okay to dance with the music a bit wild as you're discovering what you like about music and how your body moves.

Ants

Why are the ants SO freaking terrible this year?

They are the ants that have a dollar store soap smell if you squish them, which we try to avoid. So far since January we have

- sprayed the outside of the house with Ortho twice

- sprayed ortho on baseboards inside

- put out two different types of ant bait

But we are still finding them!

They are so freaking persistent. If we find several we have even tried to spray the area (if cooking/eating surface it's food safe and fully cleaned before use, if another type than Ortho)

This evening I sat down for a rest in the living room

We don't allow any food in the bedrooms or living room due to small children. After 20 ish minutes I found one crawling on my arm.

Where to read novel - Severed Bloodlines: From Sacrificed Daughter to Bratva Underboss

Doom scrolling and saw preview, link was broken when I tried to click on it

- Consisting of one daughter sold to Russian fighting pits due to family debt

- She was returning to family estate scared

- her name was Elena

- everyone was surprised she was alive

- treated her like crap

- was a favored and pampered younger sister, along with older brother

- were going to marry her off to old guy

- Russian mafia sieged the place and called her an underboss

I searched a LONG time before I found reference on Google to the title "Severed Bloodlines: From Sacrificed Daughter to Bratva Underboss" but I can't find a link to read or an author

Anyone have ideas? Is there a different title? Author?
