NSV: Avg glucose and spikes are down

I started Zepbound 5 weeks ago. In this time, my overall average glucose dropped. In addition, my overnight readings have improved, my daytime spikes are lessened, and tangentially, my snoring has all but vanished. 14 pounds down already!

Data from Stelo. I wear them a few times a year for insights. Pulled data from 2025 and 2026 and had Claude analyze it and spit out the comparison chart.

Apparently hating Elon Musk is okay, but not if you say it’s because he’s a Nazi.

I am not sure whether my comments in other subreddits are being found by outright Nazi sympathizers, or whether people who shill for Tesla simply cannot get past the cognitive dissonance that their favorite company is run by a Nazi.

Seems like there are plenty of reasons to think Musk is a piece of shit, but as soon as you start making accurate comparisons between his behavior and avowed Nazi behavior, there are a whole bunch of reasons you’re wrong.

I just will never understand this level of bootlicking.

My impromptu banana froyo was an absolute hit

  • 1 helllla ripe banana
  • A bunch of vanilla siggi’s yogurt
  • Scoop chocolate protein powder
  • Barely a tablespoon of peanut butter
  • Oat milk to thin it out a bit
  • 1/8 tsp of xanthan gum

SO good. My wife liked it too and she’s much pickier about the creami than I am. No sweetener needed at all because the ripe banana and the yogurt provided all the sweetness. Which is surprising since frozen things usually need a lot more sugar to taste sweet.

Texture is velvety smooth and creamy without a hint of ice.

I spun it tonight because I was curious but it’ll be my breakfast tomorrow. I’m really trying to load up on protein since I’m on a GLP and it can be hard to get enough sometimes.

CPO 2024 GT-line… considering it over the R2?

The Rivian R2 was so cool in person but I haven’t gotten to drive one yet. All said I’m looking at around $68k out the door for a new one, which is quite steep.

My EV6 lease is up in January and I’m seriously considering an EV9 instead. We rode in a few Uber EV9s recently and they were fantastic to ride in.

A local dealership has a 2024 CPO, GT-line, in the color I want. $50k before taxes/fees. Doing this would save me about $12k over a Rivian. They may be able to work with me on a penalty-free early lease return, and if they can, I would seriously consider it.

Anyone cross-shopped and/or driven both yet?

The third row would be a nice bonus but I don’t need it. Towing capacity is important if we want to rent a trailer.

Edit: the dealership just emailed me and said they can’t get me out of my lease. Oh well.

I thought my first 2.5mg dose was wearing off…

Last Thursday was my first injection. So, I’m 48 hours away from my next one. I was ravenous today and got sushi for me and my wife. I usually order a 3-item bento box or an equivalent amount of nigiri. Today I ordered a 2-item bento box. I ate a California roll and a shrimp tempura roll, plus a bit of miso soup and salad. None of the rice. And I am full!

What the hell!? I’d normally be able to eat all of it plus a 3rd roll. I can house sushi like an absolute motherfucker and I always feel so gross afterward because I can’t help myself.

I love this about Zepbound.

First shot! As someone who gets faint at needles, it was easier than expected

Got my first Kwikpen yesterday. Despite going into a cold sweat watching instructional videos in the days leading up, I was able to comfortably inject myself within 10 minutes of the box arriving.

It was painless. As someone who absolutely hates needles and has never injected myself before, it was easier than expected.

~21 hours later and no issues. I’ve been taking it easy on the food today. Just had a nice plate of salmon, crackers and hard cheese — along with some fresh blackberries and cherries. I found myself eating… more slowly? I also wasn’t compelled to inhale my morning protein bar like I usually do.

Approved!

I went through one of the recommended telehealth providers and got a consultation. Just waiting for them to send the Rx to Lilly Direct so I can order the Kwik pens.

After 1.5 decades of trying and failing with calorie counting, low carb, keto, and IF, I’m hoping this is what helps me out. I’m also curious to see if it helps with global inflammation/pain (doctors ruled out RA but suspect fibromyalgia) and AuDHD, both of which have seen promising results per peer reviewed GLP-1 studies. Munjaro has done wonders for my mom, so fingers crossed.

Wish me luck!!

For over a decade I thought Santa Rosa had the worst drivers anywhere I’d been in the country…

Nope, Miami. All the same problems that Santa Rosa has but even more aggression and horns.

Lights flickering over the last couple hours?

I live near the fairgrounds. Over the last couple of hours our lights have flickered several times. Never fully went out.

I’m quite certain we are on the same loop as the fairgrounds. Is it possible the Country Summer event is causing momentary surge demand high enough to cause this?

Here’s 500 pounds of mulch in my EV6. This is not interesting because any hatchback can do this.

After flying only Tiny Whoops (65mm/75mm) for 6 months, I got my first "real" FPV drone, a Seeker 3 with O4 Pro. So far so good!
