3D Game Shelves - need people to help test and request features

I've been working on a FREE website to help you find 3D Prints for your board games, and I kept going... Now I've released a beta version of 3D game shelves.

https://layerup.games/game-shelf

Replicate your rooms where you keep your games and shelf setups, and move your games onto the shelf. Sync your games and accessories from BGG and then sort, filter, and search for the games on your shelves.

You can view them in 3D and see how much room is still on the shelf. Stack vertically, horizontally, layer them, front cover out. Use big boxes; specify which base game, expansions, promos, metal coins, and accessories are in the box. Share your shelves with friends and family!

It's a very new page, but you can check out my profile, click the link, and view my shelf! The top shelf takes up the entire Kallax I have, but you can also view individual cubes in 3D.

I've been so busy working on the site that I've only added a few games, but other users have added almost 1,500 games so far.

https://layerup.games/Maker/Kamio/shelf

Again, it's a new page, so check it out, you may find some bugs, just let me know here and I'll fix them. If you think of something you'd like to see, I'd love to hear!

Organizing your games, inside and out. 3D Game Shelf feature needs testers!

Hello gamers! Last month I launched LayerUp Games, a free website where you can find 3D models to print (or buy if you don't have a 3D printer) for your board games. Today, I am releasing the second major feature: Game Shelf Organization in 3D!

3D Game Shelf (BETA 1.0)

See in action on my profile page: https://layerup.games/Maker/Kamio/shelf

Build your game shelves and then sort and organize your board games on them! Every box shows at its true size (if BGG has a version with dimensions), standing, stacked, spine out or face out, and you can turn the whole shelf in 3d to see the remaining space.

You can layer some games in front of others. If you have Big Box versions of your games, add the games/expansions/promos that are inside it. Sync your BGG collection and your games will be all ready to be organized. Sort and filter to find the exact games to fill your particular shelf.

It's brand new, so if you want a see a feature, find a bug, please tell me here or on my Discord (a screenshot helps a ton).

https://layerup.games/game-shelf

While you're on the site, if you sign up, try out the new Avatar Studio!

I added 6 3D avatars so far, can you guess which games they are inspired from? Right now I'm calling these things Layerlings, haha. Tell me any other Layerlings you'd like to see.

LayerUp Games - Board Game 3D Printing site. Browse, discover, plan and share your prints

https://LayerUp.games

Celebrating two of my favorite hobbies: board games and 3D printing. LayerUp Games is a community 3D print portal, showcasing Game Inserts, token upgrades, organizers, and accessories from Printables, MakerWorld, Thingiverse, Cults3D, and all major print repositories into one place, matched to the game on BGG.

Browse your favorite designers, discover new game print designers, and easily head to their Printables page to download. LayerUp will help you plan your next game print.

• Sync your BGG collection and your Wishlist, you now have a My Games page, which you can sort by your own Ratings

• Mark which of your games "Has an Insert" and which may still "Need an Insert"

• Plan your game prints by stage (Up Next, In Progress, Complete)

• Tag your Future prints so you can do a bunch in one day with the same color

• Match filament colors to a game's box art, or the in-game palette of player colors and gameboard

• See Print Projects, complete with the time and grams of filament it took for a game insert (coming soon)

• Share with the Community: Upload photos, leave comments, heart designs you loved, and follow your favorite designers

• Change the Theme of the site with board-game theme colors and textures! More to come

I spent the past six years printing out thousands of board game inserts, deluxe tokens, card holders, complete 3D-printed table toppers, and I want to help others find their next print. Photography is another passion of mine, so I look forward to sharing my favorite board game prints with you all!

The site is still new; it was started in May 2026 and launched this month. Prints may be mis-categorized. Report these if you find them. Every day the site is fine-tuned to intelligently weed out non-games, categorize print types and connect designer prints on multiple print sites. Apply to be a Moderator if you use the site a lot.

Please let me know what you'd like to see on the site. What features would make it easier for you to find and plan your next game print?

LayerUp.games - Board Game print search engine

I launched this week, though I started it over 2 months ago.

Sync your board games to MyShelf page, and it returns 3d prints for you. Mark your games as Has Insert or Needs Insert, or add a print to your To Print list.

I'm a photographer and blogger and have been building websites for over 20 years. I love making community focused sites! I been into 3d printing for 6 years and have printed hundreds of inserts for my games. I finally got to turn my spreadsheets into sites useable by others!

I made cute little mini spools to show my filament!

I made the spools big enough to put a 1" circular label on both sides, but they're still pretty tiny. I really love how they turned out! And the "strands" around the coil match up to a real filament width, to my eye anyway.

Now I've got a few hundred of these spools, tomorrow I'll get them up on my wall.

I built VisualSpool, a 3D printer filament tracker with realistically rendered filament spools

Hey r/SideProject. I'm a solo dev, and after six years of tracking my 3D printer filament collection in a spreadsheet, I finally built my dream filament tracker website.

visualspool.io

I wanted an interface that is calming, uncluttered and one that showcases your beautiful spools of filament colors. The whole point is that it's visual. Every spool gets a real front-facing and side render of itself. You see the wound strands. You see specialty finishes (silk shimmer, matte grain, galaxy starfields, glitter flakes, glow-in-the-dark luminance, iridescent oil-slick shifts). You see your actual filament colors, not just a hex square next to a label. You'll recognize "that's my Bambu Galaxy green spool" without reading text.

Then there's a Shelves page that lays out your storage the way you actually have it (rooms with shelving units with shelves on each), and you drag spools between them. Spools have weight tracking with full event history, so you can see when a spool was used, how much filament you've burned through it, and where it lived.

Other stuff:

  • Brand, material, variant, color filters across the whole collection
  • Custom filaments for anything not in the catalog
  • Bench zones for what's currently printing or drying
  • Label QR codes for spools
  • Works on mobile too

Free, no credit card, early access. I had a couple friends and family test it and now I'd love a few more people to find what's still rough.

To sign up without using your real email, just make one up. Anything like username@fake.com or whatever@test.com works fine. I'll delete all the obvious test accounts tomorrow, so use whatever you want.

Comment with what felt good, what felt clunky, what you wished it did. I'll be responding to your feedback here for the next few days.

Built with Blazor Server, EF Core, SQL Server, Azure if anyone's curious about the stack.
