Roger Fortson verdict

For those keeping up with the Roger Fortson case, the law enforcement officer involved (Deputy Eddie Duran) was found not guilty.

Statement: "Looking at his eyes, it was clear to me that I wasn't welcomed. I wasn't a welcome presence. He seemed aggressive, frustrated, and again, just I'm not welcome,"

"I thought I was dead. As soon as the door opened and I saw it, I immediately thought, 'I'm dead.”

This happened in Okaloosa not Escambia but it’s close to home.

My prayers go out to his family.

Long live Mr. Fortson

Study Prep Advice [Budget Friendly]

Wanted to do my best to give back to the community that made this possible for someone who knew absolutely jack squat about the power system game. To put it like this…I’m an overnight security guard with a bachelors degree in damn near under water basket weaving (finance).

Studying for this exam is brutal for someone like me. Working my way through the Powersmith, Standards, Glossay, EPRI, and now the EPG Solutions “NERC RC Success Bundle”. I have to say that the bundle really delivers a “plain-English” explanation of the grid fundamentals and presents the information in a “to the point” matter. You get a solid understanding of how the grid works, the mathematics behind the exam, as well as a pretty in depth explanation of the standards. With Powersmith it’s really great if you already have a simple understanding of the grid and electricity. I see it as a simple version of the standards mixed with essential exam formulas. EPRI manual is the go to if you know absolutely nothing fundamentally or mathematically when it comes to electricity, power, and how the grid works but I caution you that it’s boring as hell and reads like a manual for brain surgery.

If you are an absolute beginner who stumbled onto this career path due to an act of God then I would consider this if you are on a tight budget like me (so far EPG is my preferred):

EPRI Manual (Free): https://www.epri.com/research/products/000000000001016042
NERC Glossary (Free): https://www.nerc.com/standards/reliability-standards
NERC Standards (Free): https://www.nerc.com/standards/reliability-standards
PowerSmith: ($135) : https://powersmiths.biz/shop
EPG Solutions NERC RC exam Success Bundle ($99): https://epgsolutions.services/products/nerc-rc-exam-success-bundle?variant=51514189087008
Quizlet: Make sure the flashcards are current and match standards.

As always, results may vary and I’ll report back my exam results later on this year. Thanks for all the silent angels in the sub and to all the companies listed for your efforts.

Additional videos or study resources for NERC RC

Help a brother out!

I have recently had to shift my financial obligations during my course of self study for the NERC exam and I’m scheduled to take it this October. Does anyone have additional resources they can offer in terms of study material. I was going to get the Powersmith video series to go along with my Powersmith book but can’t afford the additional $350 for the forceable future until my exam date!

Anything helps 🫡

Thanks for the Tek and for changing my life

Best decision I ever made was growing my own medicine

Second best was making capsules.

If you have the resources, I would suggest at least a try. No more stomach pain, nausea, and now have the ability to dose micro or macro discretely and with much ease.

Anxiety, depression, anger…all fixed

I owe you guys more than I can ever give 🫡

Saw another post on here asking for help regarding hair.

Couldn’t post a picture but after dealing with the issue for some time I wanted to help. Leave in conditioner or “curl enhancing cream from shea butter” are the only things that have ever worked for me. Asian, Black, and White (Lebanese). Father is Black and white, Mother is Asian and Lebanese.

Off limits to security

Does anyone find it weird when a client deems rooms or buildings at the site “off limits” for security? I understand hazmat, medical, and other rooms or building that may require further training. But I always find it strange when clients do this. Makes me wonder what is really going on in there.
