Working on the visual style for our multiplayer Hell-themed game

We've been working on the visual direction for our indie game, Hell Roulette, and wanted to share a screenshot from an in-game round.

We're going for a stylized 3D noir aesthetic, mixing cartoonish mafia characters with a darker Hell-themed environment.

This is one of the current versions of the game's table, characters, lighting and UI. We're still iterating on everything, but we're pretty happy with how the overall scene is coming together.

What do you think of the visual direction?

Building a multiplayer horror game about mafia cats in Hell

We've been experimenting with a multiplayer game inspired by Buckshot Roulette.

Instead of everyone taking turns with the weapon, only one player controls the gun while everyone else tries to influence the outcome using cards, items, and strategic decisions.

The setting is a group of mafia cats gambling in Hell for a second chance at life.

Do you think shifting the focus from luck to player interaction makes the formula more interesting?

If it caught your attention, consider adding it to your Steam wishlist. It really helps us as an indie team!

Feedback request: Does this twist on the Buckshot Roulette formula sound interesting?

We've been prototyping a multiplayer game inspired by Buckshot Roulette, and we'd love some honest design feedback.

The biggest change is that only one player controls the gun during a round. Everyone else tries to influence the outcome through cards, items, bluffing, and strategic decisions rather than directly taking turns with the weapon.

The goal was to move the experience away from pure luck and create more opportunities for player interaction, alliances, and mind games.

The setting is a group of mafia cats gambling in Hell for a second chance at life.

Our main question is**:** if you read this concept without seeing the game, does this mechanic sound more engaging than the traditional Buckshot Roulette loop? Why or why not?

We'd really appreciate any feedback on the core design, what concerns you'd have, or what you'd expect before giving it a try.

If you'd like to see more of the project, here's the Steam page

Thanks for taking the time to help us improve it!

Creating a Creepy Atmosphere with Cute Characters

I'm curious about something from a game art perspective.

How do you feel about mixing cute/cartoonish characters with darker themes like death, Hell, and gambling? Do you think the contrast makes the game more appealing, or does it create a tonal mismatch?

We're experimenting with a style that combines colorful mafia cats with an infernal setting in Hell Roulette, and I'd love to hear what people think about that kind of visual direction. What games do you think have pulled off this contrast successfully?
