Newly Updated Chrome Incredibly Laggy

Desktop: Windows 10, 64-bit i7-4790, 12gb ram desktop

Chrome: Version 151.0.7922.138 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Issue started after computer rebooted, Chrome (and Microsoft Edge) both incredibly laggy.
-Takes a long time to open

-mouse constantly flashes to "thinking/working" icon even when idling.

-*All* actions take about 3-4 seconds to complete; opening new tab, clicking and holding to drag window, maximizing, each typed letter into the address bar, eg. I typed "testing" and it took a little over 21 seconds for the word to appear, each letter taking about 3.5 seconds to appear,

Troubleshooting attempted:
-Turned off/on Hardware acceleration in chrome
-renaming Default folder to Default_Backup and letting it regenerate
-fully uninstall chrome and reinstall (twice over troubleshooting)
-Turned off Windows Exploit protection
-renaming chrome.exe to chrome1.exe and turning off Control Flow Guard (CFG) in Exploit Protection.
-Reset Winsock and IP Stack
- appended --no-sandbox to chrome.exe and ran

If anyone could help, I'd very much appreciate it. Microsoft Edge is also affected, and I tested it briefly since it google said it ran on chromium too, but I need Chrome to work so that's where I focused my efforts.

Thanksfully, Firefox is unaffected, so I'm able to post here.

CA residents can delete personal data from data brokers with state-run platform

Tldr; go to https://privacy.ca.gov/ to request your info be removed from all non-direct relationship data brokers. Enforcement begins Aug 1st. data broker registration and compliance is mandatory, enforced by fines and a dedicated enforcement team.

Just read (skimmed briefly, as is the custom 'round these parts) a KCRA article that the state has a new quick 'n easy online platform to request your data be removed from data brokers that may have bought and stored your data without a direct relationship to you.

There's apparently a dedicated enforcement team and some brokers have already been fined for not registering.

Here's the link to the request site.

Recreated my favorite watch!

(not a watch face seller, just excited about my first big watch face studio project)

Many many.... many moons ago, the love of my life got me a 01 The One Samui Moon first gen binary watch. I love that watch and still have it some 20 years later, but the LEDs have dimmed or gone out, and the buttons don't press crisply like they used to.

With the company out of business and repair parts few and scattered to the wind, I decided to try to recreate it on my 5pro!

I know this part will be controversial, but I think it's the perfect use for AI. I fed chatgpt a hi-res picture of the watch and it removed the glass glare, bezel, band, etc so I had a base png of the circuit board to work with and one glowing LED.

Programming was easier than expected. Binary on/off for each light was achieved by using the % operator, which gives you the remainder after division. Divide an hour or minute by 2 repeatedly, and the instances that give a remainder happen to mark when you need to add an "on" bit in the binary byte. Y'know what, I'll edit in a link here when I get to my computer for those who are interested.

Blue is my favorite color and that's what my original watch LEDs are, but this is a smart watch now, so next steps are to add different LED color options!

If you read this far, thanks for joining me in my excitement!
