Rough experience while driving ETS2 with right side steering wheel

I have had ATS for a few years and I got ETS2 a little while back and last night I drove to Cambridge in a truck with the steering wheel on the right side for the first time. Being a US resident with 44+ years of driving experience it was quite a shock to my senses to drive on the opposite side of the road. The bigger issue was judging the lane position as I am so used to the perspective from the left side of the vehicle I was constantly hugging the outside of the lane. My steering wheel and pedal haptics were driving me crazy because I was constantly on the rumble strips. Does it just take some getting used to and get better with experience or does anyone have any tips on how to speed up that process?

what are you playing August 2026?

What does your library page look like by playtime of your installed games? I would love to see the diversity and maybe check out some new ideas I might not have thought of that are cool games. I know I can look up most played and other stats right on Steam but I wanted something besides what's popular or highest rated or sells them most.

Your trucking progress/stats in ATS/ETS2?

I bought ATS 8/6/23 and ETS2 just recently 7/8/26 so I'm not really a noob, or at least that is what I thought until I looked at my numbers. In my defense I have a few hobbies that split up my time plus work and life in general. I started playing ATS more near the end of last year and finally gave ETS2 a try and I am so glad I did as it's like travelling the world without leaving my comfy chair. Back to my question - my numbers are pretty sad now that I look at them. Here is how many hours and the amount discovered: ATS 51 hours 6.52% discovery, ETS2 10.6 hours 3.29% discovery. keep in mind I have all the map DLC for ATS and all but 3 for ETS2. What are your played hours and discovery rate?

What were your best non computer hardware upgrades?

We always talk about wheelbases and pedals and shifters, what are some things other than these type of items that has made your experience more fun or pleasurable? Preferably things that are inexpensive and within most peoples budget. For me it was racing/driving shoes($22), gloves($19) and a usb fan($9) that serves as cooling and an artificial wind machine😁

finally added ETS2 to my collection

I have been playing ATS for about 3 years now and have all of the map DLC. I'm not sure why but I have always dismissed the need to get ETS2 since I live in the US, but I finally gave in since it was $4.99 on the Steam sale. So far I have only put in about 2 hours just getting the controls configured and running a few quick jobs but I am loving this game. It's like travelling to different countries without the expense or hassle. New trucks, new roads and new scenery that I would not get to experience IRL. It is taking some getting used to with how the roads work and especially turn offs or exits. I am so looking forward to exploring the world in this game. Only downside is now I want all the maps DLC's for ETS2😁

My Sim Racing gear history to date

I have been Sim Racing/Driving for a long time now and have gone through a few different setups over the years. Here is a list of what I have had over that time as far as hardware.

- Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Racing wheel and pedals (late 90's)
- Logitech MOMO Racing wheel and pedals (My first force feedback wheel)
- PXN V900 wheel and pedals (Wife bought me this to get back into the hobby)
- Logitech G29 wheel and pedals and Driving Force shifter (First pedals with a clutch)
- Moza R5 and SRP Lite pedals with clutch and PXN HBS handbrake
- Moza R9 V3 and CRP2 pedals with clutch and Simagic P-HPR's, Moza HGP shifter, PXN HBS handbrake and PXN CB1 button box

I am very happy with my current setup and plan on sticking with what I have for a long time.

What has you progress been like?

SRP Lites to CRP2's

I got my new CRP2 Pedals 2 days ago and it's been a roller coaster of emotions and thoughts as buyers remorse always shows up when I make a substantial purchase like this. Let me start by saying that if I was just coming from the stock SRP Lites most of this probably would not have taken place but mine were completely modified with the Moza Brake Performance kit, the Alien Mod load cell and the 3Drap throttle and clutch mods so they actually felt pretty good (just not adjustable). So when I got the CRP2 pedals the first thing that I noticed was the difference in build quality, these things are very solid and on a completely different level from the SRP Lites. After assembling everything and installing them on my setup it took a while to dial in the pedal feel for each of them. First I adjusted the pedal plate angle and height to where I liked them. The clutch was the easiest and I love the multi stage bite point feel of it, I made a minor adjustment to the tension and good to go. I did the throttle next switching springs then switching back to the harder spring and turned up the tension knob and good to go. Then there was the brake and that took considerably longer. I did not like the stock setup and the options took some time to figure out. I also ordered the brake performance kit which doesn't arrive for a few more days (had to get it direct from Moza). I finally found a combination that I like from the stock elastomers and I believe I can get the exact feel once the brake kit arrives. Overall I am very happy with the purchase and feel like I have my "forever" pedals.

New Chair for Me

I have had one of these at work for a while now so I new I liked it. It's was a good price and decent quality and my 8 year old mid back chair had seen better days. I got the GT Player GT800A for a little over $100 and since I do Sim Racing and Flight Simulation I upgraded the wheels to locking casters. It's perfectly comfortable and the locking wheels do exactly what they are suppose to keeping the chair in place when using the racing and rudder pedals.

FIA event time is kinda sad, but that's ok.

I never really got into Rally Games/Sims before as I just really didn't like them. The closest I got was DR2.0 but still didn't play it much. I am really liking ACRally, there is just something different about it. That being said I thought I would give the FIA event car/course a try never having driven them before. I see the current fastest time is 6:10.xx, so after 3 runs I got it down to 8:43.515 which is extremely bad by comparison. I am hoping that I can improve this to at least a sub 8, but I am going to have fun doing the best I can no matter the final time I achieve. Anyone else this bad?
