In my Scipii campaign, once I defeated the Brutii, I knew it was all but over. Yes, the Julii were technically still around but they only had poor settlements in Germania, Dacia, and Scythia by the time I was heading after them, so by then victory was mine, I was just painting the map Scipii blue.

Earlier on, when I was fighting Egypt, I was worried that it may be over because they quickly advanced all the way to Thapsus, and were on their way to Carthage before I finally drove them back. If they had taken Carthage, it would have been much harder to defeat them that's for sure.

Basically, I've been thinking a lot about the state of the world and how it seems like civilization as we know it is coming to an end, and I'd like to read about what it's like for people who lived during the end of their world. Like the late Roman Empire, or the Aztecs, Mayans, Egyptians, etc.

Hey there. So I've had depression for as long as I can remember. I've been medicated for four years without any progress, none of the medications seem to work.

I am poor and in debt so that could be a reason but I was depressed before I got into debt so I don't think that's the reason. Also I've been poor my whole life and it doesn't really bother me at all. I don't crave money or material crap.

But I have had an aching suspicion that I'm trans for many years, but I've never really expressed it in any way.

I got some feminine clothes a few years ago but I only wore them in my room and even then, when I moved last year I donated the clothes to a thrift store, since I figured I'd never wear them.

So here I am living a lie, pretending I'm something I'm not to be socially acceptable, and it saddens me profoundly.

Sorry if this seems out of place here, but I figured I'd ask y'all. I came across a post from a self described Anprim who said "Shut up about AI and data centers if you use a phone, the internet, eat meat, etc, you are objectively part of the problem" and then he said to "Read John Zerzan" and apparently he's the founder of Anarcho Primitivism.

So I did a bit of research into Anprim and apparently they want humanity to return to a hunter gatherer society because agriculture and all the advancements that stemmed from it essentially laid the foundations for the systems of oppression we all live under (Imperialism, Feudalism, Capitalism, etc).

But there seems to be a major flaw in this line of thinking, in that the only way we are able to sustain our population is through industrialized agriculture.

If we went back to a Hunter Gatherer model, billions would presumably die as we would hunt every animal to extinction if there were hundreds of millions or billions hunting for their own food.

I know that some legendaries respawn, but for the ones that don't, how do you make a double fusion out of them?

So, I'm currently unemployed, and I'm out of savings. I'm looking for employment but I live in a rural area and can't drive (yet, I'm getting my learners permit) so getting employment at this time will be extremely difficult if not impossible until I get my learners permit.

I've been making minimum payments on my cards but I've run out of savings. I'm essentially broke now.

I talked to Discover and they said to qualify for hardship programs I'll need to make the minimum payment by July 27th, but I just don't have it. I have nothing.

No assets, no money. Nothing. I'm destitute.

What do I do? Who do I turn to? Should I just default at this point?

How come people in the early 1900s, before the internet allowed people around the world access to all the information they could ever want, and the ability to communicate quickly, able to organize these movements that led to real change here in the US, and abroad.

I'm 26 and I've avoided getting my license because I hate the concept of cars (big bulky death machines creep me out), I hate having to use one, having to pay a monthly subscription for it (insurance), etc. Never been a fan. I love when other people drive, it's more relaxing and chill.

However, I moved to a rural area, and I live 4 miles from town. The terrain is too steep and hilly for a bike or trike, and walking 4 miles to and from town everyday? Fuck that.

So, I'm gonna get my license.

What are some helpful tips for me, especially as an autistic person who has issues with reaction times, spatial awareness (How the fuck am I supposed to know how far 500 feet is without a giant measuring stick?), and anxiety (I'm scared of fucking everything).

Looking for recommendations for these as most of what I've engaged with is from the viewpoints of people in Capitalist societies with a Capitalist mode of thinking. I'd be interested in engaging with fiction books written by Socialist authors, for example the book "Roadside Picnic" which was written by Soviet Authors and inspired the 1979 film "Stalker"

I've played lots of video games in my life, and I notice they always tend to operate based on a capitalist framework because that's the default for our society.

Are there any games out there that feature a communist society or communist ideas in them?

I know Disco Elysium is a famous one I should try, but other than that.

Personally I'm not a moralist on the issue. I don't really see animals as sapient creatures deserving of the same rights as humans, I couldn't really care less how they're treated.

However, I do see the environmental impact of mass animal agriculture, and that it is essential for us to reduce our consumption of animal products to a significant degree.

So basically I'm wondering from a Marxist perspective, are animals a resource that should be managed for the benefit of the people, or are they an oppressed population in need of liberation just as the workers of the world?
