In the 2002 movie there are some shots/scenes where it looks shiny but also multiple scenes where it's got a smooth matte look to it. Personally, I love the smoother matte look so I went ahead and disassembled him (by removing his arms, upper torso and also separated the helmet overlay so I could coat just the top piece and leave the eyes with the shiny coat they came with out of the box) and gave him a top to bottom coat of super clear matte. Took this figure from personal top 10 to top 3. Sometimes it's crazy what a top coat can do for a figure.

This was set to be delivered today but never shipped, this morning it asked me to confirm I still wanted it and converted to Order Recieved. This is going to be more and more of a thing at least for a while (for obvious or not so obvious reasons) and I think we all need to expect to be using our patience muscle more than usual. Hope everyone is doing well and not struggling too hard with expectations that currently are not being met. It's a weird time in the world but I'm sure everyone will get their figures soon enough. A little reminder that we all (including me) need: Be excellent to each other!

Found time today (on a Monday!) to goof around with some construction paper. My daughter is 16 months so she's really only interested in tearing up the paper but I tried to involve her a little bit. Had to keep these away from her though because I could see in her eyes the desire to shred these. They are now safe and on the wall! We looked at Halloween decorations in stores but tbh nothing spoke to me and it's all gotten so expensive. This was a fun way to save money and do it up in my own style.

Anyone else already setting up for Halloween? Are your kids old enough to be excited about it?

I dug up an old McFarlane Harry Potter jacket and arms I had painted black (I guess I dyed the wrists because they aren't going back to the original tan color) and the rest is mostly a Connor Kent body and I stuck a patch of black heat shrink tube between the upper and lower torso to simulate an untucked tshirt. The boots and ankles are from a Marvel Legends Logan figure. I have a head on the way but right now this is what I'm working with.

Still waiting on the heads they are taking a while to get here from overseas. I still need to finish the paint jobs on the bodies but after getting Scully's legs figured out I'm gonna take a break till the heads arrive. This project is a big deal to me and has taken me years to finally come up with this recipe for Scully mostly thanks to the Marvel Legends Thunderbolts Valentina Allegra de Fontaine figure. I was one of the few who got that two pack for Val only 😎

I'm excited to share the final results of these in a few weeks. I'm gonna finally have fully articulated X-Files figures!!!

About as close as I think I'm getting to a perfect Batman by McFarlane. Still haven't found the perfect cape but for now this one does the trick even if it's the wrong shade of blue.
Mezco Ascending Knight neck made this World's Finest head work IMO. Painted over the black shading and swapped the trunks out for the Knightfall ones.

Picked up some basics at a local flea market, obviously would have been nice to find some type IIs but with prices climbing these days ill take what I can get when a good deal presents itself.

I have some issues with this figure for sure, the head can't really look up much, the feet are on dumbbell joints so they can be fairly limited when trying to achieve certain crouch poses. But mostly, this is easily the best Catwoman figure I own and may ever own (assuming Inart doesn't make a Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman) and tbh this figure is so good I'd buy a Halle Berry Catwoman figure if it was by Inart lol

I tried to recreate some poses from the movie and production/marketing materials, mileage varies. I'm not the greatest poser in the world but this is me trying 😬

The body of my Mezco 1989 Batman tore so I decided I wanted a figure I could pose and take as a pocket fig occasionally that wouldn't get beat up. I really love it even though it's not accurate to the body armor, it does the job for me, personally.

Just went full-bore on this today. Fully painted and sealed with Mr. Hobby Super Clear Matte. He's big but honestly that's kind of why I like it so much. The body is a NECA TMNT Nobody I picked up at Target today.

Not going for accuracy, just playing around with my own look. Legs are from Wenwu, shotgun is NECA and the pistol is from a Mezco One:12 figure (The Crow, I think) while the shoulder straps are from the Punisher & Bushwacker 2 pack. The arms are from a Disney+ Hawkeye.

Overall I didn't want to buy a whole other Punisher figure to make a version i'd like better so I searched my bins for parts to make this happen.

I am over the moon with this figure. Knowing myself, 1 am still gonna tinker with this custom in the future but he's going on the shelf regardless for a good long while.

Future tweaks:
I didn't really worry about matching the torso paint to the trunks, I may address that at some point.
I want to give him a cloth cape too.
I'd like to one day print a head I have an STL for but I'm a ways off from dusting off my printers.
I will also probably touch up the yellow paint as the stuff | used dried lumpy despite watering it down and following my normal steps.
Lastly and possibly most importantly, he's too tall. I didn't compare him to Batman until I was nearly done and I wish I had otherwise I would have tried addressing it early on. I just really wanted to get this guy on the shelf and my Batman is posed on a flight stand above everyone else so it really doesn't matter right now.

I picked up the costume only without the Toby head or original body so I put it on a NOTA blank and wow, this immediately feels like one of my absolute favorites in my entire collection. The feet are limited, some of the hands are weirdly huge. Also, he's not exactly in-scale with my other Raimi figures (especially the Mafex) but having a solid 1/12 wrestler Human Spider is something I've dreamed of since I was a kid and felt the rubber suit that came with the Toybiz figure just didn't cut it.

Imagine if the hierarchy of the DC Universe changed... but in a much different way 😝

Had an old SHF The Rock head lying around I was never gonna use and doing a bit seemed as good a reason to use it as anything else. It almost doesn't even look like The Rock under the helmet lol

Got the alternate head and didn't know what to do with the other body, sooooo I experimented.

The original figure has really fun exaggerated proportions that sell the character of Catwoman, but I think I've managed to make it look like there is an actual human woman inside the costume with the battle damaged version. I didn't shrink her much though. I trimmed the ankles, wrists and drilled out the upper diaphragm ball socket which allowed the corset to sit further down on the diaper piece.

Anyway I love both figures and both looks. My only complaint is the new battle damaged Catwoman has a tackiness to the paint that makes the joints stick and leaves my fingers feeling tacky when I handle it. Not sure what they did different between the two as they look like the same paint jobs but it's very obvious in-hand.

This figure rules. Scales pretty good with SH Figuarts Superman 👍 (Superman being 6' 4" and Peacemaker being 6' 1")

I was looking forward to the BigBadWorkshop Madman figure but OOOOOOH BOY this one takes the cake. It also feels more accurate to Mike Allred's iconic art style. I genuinely cannot wait this is such a great surprise!
