Hello, I'm looking to visit RMNP on the 16th and the 18th. I'm looking for great spots for photography and hike, however, everywhere I look it sounds like parking is an issue. So my questions are:

How big of an issue is finding parking?

What spots do you all recommend to see?

What hiking trails do you recommend?

Other than contrasting the teams, does the color really matter?

I’m reffing a U10 game tomorrow on my own (small field, 7v7) and I was wondering if it really mattered if I wore yellow or not. I’ve heard yes and I’ve heard no.

Just kinda tired of yellow🙃.

TL;DR: Typical game of kickball caused issues with stamina and getting into position. Parents complained. Assignor called me out on poor positioning while also stating that the conversation was just something to make us look good. Not sure how to proceed.

A couple of weeks ago, I was working an event as center. It wasn’t necessarily a tournament. More so a “mixer” (for lack of a better word) as a preseason event for local club teams.

I’m fairly new. Only been the one with the whistle 5 times. (Including the 4 games I had worked at the event).

The first game was just fine. Not great but not bad. Took what I learned from it and moved on.

2nd and 3rd games had U11 and U12 kids, so the ball flying everywhere. I know I’m out of shape so I tried to keep up, but I tried to call everything I saw that looked like a foul.

I mean during these games I run down the field, ball poked to the keeper, keeper boots it. Team attacks, defense pokes, keeper boots it.

I get it at this age I do. But I don’t know how to position better when it’s just this.

After the 3rd game, it got so bad that the parents and a coach went up and talked about how bad I was doing to the assignors.

One of the assignors came down to the field, asked me what the score was. I told him 5-0. The coach that complained was of course the coach that lost.

The assignor told me this “this is mainly a conversation just to make us look better, but just work on your positioning. You make better calls close to the play”

Final game I called everything I thought looked like a foul. Even booked a girl.

What am I supposed to do here? I don’t care about the parents’ or coaches comments during games. They can take the test and in person course themselves. Hell I’m surprised most don’t as a tactic.

Like I just feel like I look bad to the assignors. Especially when I met them for the first time today.

I’m working on my health and was overall happy with my calls in the 4th game. But I just don’t know what to do.

I have 4 games as center this weekend. 2 of which are U11s (1 boys 1 girls) the others are U12s.

The biggest question I have is I remember going through the in person class and the instructor said "As a male referee the biggest tool you have for girls/women's games is your whistle", but he didn't really elaborate on that. What would he mean? I assume its a respect thing to show you have authority over the game and it can be hard other wise to communicate that as a male?

My other question is, at what age are you enforcing the countdown on restart? This is a tournament and the organizers said they want to be more strict on the rules to challenge the players a bit more, but how much is *too* much? I'm not expecting to send off an 11 year old because of a challenge, but what about the restart rules?

I’m fairly new to being a center, only 2 games of experience.

When I was going through training and watching the videos and modules, I could have sworn I was told “Keep your hand up until the ball is back in play”

Now, for the second game I was center I was keeping my hand through the ball being back in play, it did confuse the U12s. I will admit, I didn’t explain this at the pre match meeting so I will take fault there.

But overall, is that am I wrong to do this?

Obviously going to be kids (U10). But really anything to look out for?

Other than a rogue ball coming my way after the kids bunch around it like grapes on a vine.

I cannot see my calendar on arbiter anymore and I have a game I need accept. Someone please help if able!

I had declined one game that was at the same location as the previous.

The first game ended at 12 and the second started at 12. I have a feeling I could have worked both games but this is the first time I have had numerous games scheduled on the same day, and this isn’t a tournament.

Looking back I couldn’t have worked it anyway because a different assignor assigned me to work a game at a middle school across town.

If I wasn’t working the game at the middle school, would I have been able to work both games? I’m struggling to make this work at the moment and I am trying to find tips to keep track of games across 2 different apps.

Right now I’m trying to put all the games I get assigned into my phone’s calendar app with the source of the assignment (the app) and Assignor (if I can easily tell who the assignor is. 1 assignor sometimes has his wife’s name on the games and she is an assignor as well.)

Anyone have any tips?

One dealership is offering me the “best offer they can” so I countered “can you match the trade in?”

They said “Hey man, I just checked with the store owner, and we’re offering you the best deal we can.”

This has to be a lie right? How often are you discussing with the store owner about a deal?

Am I fucked? I don’t know where I will be in regards to center or AR.

I have never personally bought a car but I’m ready (for the most part) to buy now.

I’ve never understood the whole “X amount down and you’re out the door” or whatever marketing dealerships use to get a car into your hands.

Don’t I have to pay the fees, taxes, etc. at the dealership when I pay for a car?

Also the car I want has 0 inventory anywhere so I would I have customize it online and order it. That’s like 0 room for negotiation, right?

Asked if assistants are needed because this would also be my first ever game as a referee.

I feel like I know the answer but hearing it objectively from others will definitely help.

RefInsight is telling me it is just under an hour (58 minutes) to drive to and from the tournament work at the end of the month.

The assignor says that lodging would be available depending on mileage.

How do I know if I qualify?

My city had multiple assignors. Is it a bad thing to contact each of them or even reach out to some for a second time?

I have already reached out to a couple but haven’t heard back. It’s been a day since I reached out.

I also don’t want to be that guy who appears like they are bombarding the assignors with emails.
