Hawaiian Name

My husband and I are expecting are first girl in Feb of 2027. We were looking into giving her a Hawaiian middle name (our two boys have Hawaiian middle names). We have agreed on naming her after the moon. I know in Hawaiian Mahina is moon, but we wanted it to be specifically about a full bright moon. I’ve used the Hawaiian dictionary but am not sure if that would translate well over to a name. Any help/guidance would be appreciated!

To clarify I am Hawaiian but unfortunately do not have any family who speak Hawaiian (they have all passed).

mahalo!

Drive Safe

Hi all,
I recently enrolled in car insurance with state farm. Im receiving the drive safe discount so I have to install the beacon in my vehicle. I wanted to get your opinions if it’s worth it? I’ve heard multiple reports saying that it’s extremely sensitive. I live in an area where people don’t stop at stop signs so Im constantly having to hard break in order to avoid collisions. Would you recommend keeping it or canceling it? Thanks in advance!

I’d also like to add that the initial discount for my original quote was $14. I did make some changes to my policy so I’m assuming the discount went up a little bit

Transfer Title Rules

Hi, I just bought a car through fb marketplace. Previous owner signed the title over to me, I know they have 10 days to send their portion in. I scheduled an appointment within the 30 days to finish transferring the title at the Satellite City Hall. Am I allowed to drive the vehicle around while I wait for my appointment or should I wait for the transfer to be completed? Also do I need to get insurance before I transfer the title? Thanks in advance!

Don’t know if I’m doing the right thing

My husband, kids, and I have made the decision to move out. We have been living with my parents and helping them both physically and financially. Recently my dad was diagnosed with stage four cancer, and he is having a hard time accepting that his time may be limited. We also know he has a lot of debt, and we will not be able to afford to keep the house after he passes.

I am also expecting another baby, and I need to think about the stability and future of my own family. My mom and other relatives live here too, so my mom will not be alone. This decision is not about abandoning anyone. It is about making sure my children, my husband, and our new baby have a secure place to live and a plan for what is coming.

Am I wrong for doing so?

Savings Bonds

Hi everyone,
I recently came across some Savings Bonds that were gifted to me when I was a kid. Does anyone know of any local places where I can cash them? I live on O‘ahu and already checked with my bank (ASB), but they no longer handle them since it’s not common anymore. I know I can get them cashed online but was hoping there was a way to get it done locally.

Etsy advice

Hi, I recently started a business through Etsy in January of this year. I primarily sell digital patterns and stickers, but I also offer a few physical products such as reusable shopping bags and neck shades for construction hard hats. My LLC was recently approved in Hawai‘i, so I haven’t had the chance to apply for an EIN yet. I’m considering discontinuing the hard hat accessories and focusing only on stickers, patterns, and bags. Should I keep the LLC and apply for an EIN, or dissolve it and continue as a sole proprietorship?

Should I dissolve my LLC and go back to sole prop? Etsy is asking for an EIN…

Aloha! I started my Etsy shop as a side hustle while being a full‑time caregiver. I later partnered with someone who created an LLC in Hawai‘i and added themselves as a member. I’m trying to get them removed now.

Etsy is telling me I need to switch my shop to “Incorporated business,” but it’s asking for an EIN, which I don’t have. I also pay GE taxes under the LLC name, and I’m thinking about canceling that GET license too.

Is it easier to just dissolve the LLC and keep my shop as a sole proprietorship? Anyone been through this?
