Glad to find this sub!

I've added a number of new bulbs and plants to my garden this year and last in an attempt to diversify things since most of mine are those yellow and orange (you'll have to excuse me, I don't know names or varieties). I have quite a lot of day lilies but planted some oriental lilies as well. Excited to see everyone's beautiful flowers and grow the garden!

Tug Albert and Barge Margaret - Belle Isle, June 28, 2026

Tug Albert pushing the barge Margaret by Belle Isle. This was a fun sighting as one of the crew members had a meshtastic node and we were able to make contact while the passed and he waved at us as they passed.

Rinse day

Back in stage 1 for these for another week (3rd week), plus how I keep things labeled since I try to keep a notebook but I'm trash at keeping it updated. The labels are chalkboard marker so I can update as needed, but they peel up easy. I'm excited for the ocean Jasper I have going in the second barrel.

Labradorite heart

Another lab from my collection, I mentioned this one in a comment or post previously, it doesn't have the best polish on it but great flash so I'm intending to do my own polish on it soon to give it a little oomph

Sam Laud and Paul R. Tregurtha Passing By Belle Isle

Got to catch the Sam Laud and the PRT last night at Belle Isle! My vantage point for the PRT was fantastic, she was so close to where I was standing.

Labs in the sunlight

Took a few of my new lab palmstones into the garden to get pictures of their flash!

Petroleum Quartz

I recently got this new petroleum quartz and it's made it's way into my favorites, but I'm interested if anyone could point me in the direction of an explanation of why that one portion glows differently (pinkish under 365nm) than the others which none of my other petroleum quartz seems to exhibit.

Daily drivers

I wear these rings every day and love them a lot. The (I guess) infinity eternity style band is showing some dings and stuff from wear but thats OK lol. Would love to see yalls jewelry

They're getting smarter 😭

Now they're breaking some of the points to make it more "natural" looking 🥲

Labradorite

Picked up some new labradorite and this is the most exciting of the pieces I got. It's so flashy! I can't stop looking at it and turning it over!

Are these agates?

Found these in my backyard landscape rock (Michigan) and while I collect, my eye for spotting is still getting trained. I see banding but I don't know if it's agate banding or an imposter. There's druzy on all of them.

Calcite - Mexico

Calcite rhombohedrons, I like that they flouresce different colors and there is nice rainbows peeking thru on the one.

Dogtooth Calcite

Dogtooth calcite of unknown location under 365nm. More pictures under LED light on my profile. The matrix flouresces also.

Much thanks to u/Waldohossenpfeffer_1 for their comment and post on the grit experiment, a followup on my previous question regarding a couple different polishes I had and whether they were likely the same. I followed the instructions provided but on a smaller scale (used smaller jars and weighed out a smaller quantity of grit on a scale) and after adding water and a little soap and shaking, the results started to show pretty immediately, but after 30 minutes were already clear. To my own eye, the rock knockers and Kingsley north appear to be similar size, but the rocks4u is still in suspension and I will keep separate.
