I was watching tiktok videos before bed regularly I think back in 2023.

I just downloaded it again because I thought it might have useful new mom tips.

I'm finding it so different now. I think the algorithm is probably different but also the advertising is insane and it's not as obvious that something is an ad. And I think those hidden ads are what makes it suck.

I used to get the stop scrolling warnings all the time back in the day. I don't even know if they still have those but I dont think I never get immersed in this app the way I used to.

Are there tricks you can do to make it more pleasant?

What genius decided to name this town?

I hate the name Pflugerville and I genuinely think its a hindrance to the town.

Its uninspired and doesn't take itself seriously.

Did someone see Pottersville in It's a Wonderful Life and think that was something to emulate??

Just calling it Pfluger would sound more grown up and legitimate.

This rant is inspired by a tiktok I saw talking about the Nexus Project, which made me happy for the town because at least people have a long term vision for it.

I don't understand why someone wanted to kneecap it with that stupid, drab name.

Maybe this is a horribly offensive view, but it's just my honest opinion of the name Pflugerville.

Objectively Round Rock, Georgetown, Cedar Park and Leander are prettier names. Pflugerville is what you name your unloved step child that you keep locked in a garden shed.

In one episode Mike mentions some chicago restaurant that has an amazing chopped salad. In another episode he and jules talk about sojurning to some Arizona city to go to a Portillos because it has a similar type salad to that beloved restauarnt.

I have known the name of the restaurant before, but now I can't remember it and my google searches aren't helping.

other details that may be wrong:

I think it wasn't in chicago proper, its some outlying suburb. I felt like it maybe had 'lodge' in its name or was called 'the lodge' but I'm not getting any hits on that. And I think the salad has bleu cheese.

EDIT: I figured it out...it is L. Woods Tap & Pine Lodge and its the L. Woods Chopped

according to the website:

Basically title. Parents are considering moving down from Dallas. They looked at Wimberly last time they were here and I guess there's no hip bridge and mahjong scene there.

I bought a painting. Ebay has charged me. Today I asked the seller when I could expect the item to be shipped. They responded "I closed this account". That's it, that's all they said. I want to initiate getting a refund but it looks like ebay's not going to allow that option until June 9th.

Is there anyway to bypass these time limits since its very clear im not getting this item from this person?
