Looking for a China-based PCB/PCBA + enclosure manufacturer for a small hardware prototype

Hi everyone,

I'm a student developing a small consumer electronics product and I'm currently looking for a reliable China-based manufacturer for the prototype stage.

I'm looking for a company/person who can potentially help with:

  • PCB design/DFM
  • PCB fabrication
  • Component sourcing
  • PCBA
  • 3D-printed enclosure prototype
  • Final assembly
  • Eventually injection molding for larger production

I'm currently looking for a very small quantity (1–5 prototypes), so I'm specifically interested in manufacturers that are comfortable working with early-stage hardware startups and low MOQ.

.

If you have experience with this or can recommend a reliable manufacturer, please comment or DM me.

Thanks!

Need help creating Gerber file

Hi, I’m looking for someone who can help me create a Gerber file for a PCB. I’m a student, so I can’t pay much, but any help would mean a lot. Thanks!

help

Hi everyone,

I’m a student working on an electronics project and I’m looking for places in Shimoga (Shivamogga) where I can buy components like:

  • Arduino (Nano/Uno)
  • Li-ion / LiPo batteries
  • Modules (DFPlayer, Bluetooth, etc.)
  • Basic electronics components

Are there any local shops that sell these? Even small electronics stores would help.

If not, please suggest reliable online websites that deliver to Shimoga at a reasonable price.

Thanks in advance 🙏

Need help creating schematic + Gerber file (student project, low budget)

Hi everyone,

I’m a student working on a small electronics project and I need some help creating a proper schematic diagram and Gerber files for PCB manufacturing.

The project is based on:

  • Arduino (Nano)
  • DFPlayer Mini (audio module)
  • Timer functionality + display
  • Battery-powered setup

I already have a working prototype on a breadboard, but I’m struggling to convert it into a clean schematic and PCB design.

I’m looking for someone who:

  • Can help design the schematic properly
  • Create Gerber files ready for manufacturing
  • Maybe guide me a bit so I can learn too

Important: I’m a student, so my budget is very limited 😅
I can pay a small amount, but I’d really appreciate anyone willing to help or guide me affordably.

If you’re interested, please comment or DM me 🙏

Thank you!

Student startup help!

Need some guidance on taking my electronics prototype towards a real product

Hey everyone, I’m an engineering student working on a small portable electronics product. I’ve built the prototype using modules like an Arduino Nano, DFPlayer Mini, Li-ion battery, charging/boost module, buttons, etc.

I’m now trying to understand how I would actually turn this into a proper product, and I’m a bit lost because I have very little prior knowledge of PCB design and manufacturing.

I’d really appreciate some advice on a few things:

  1. Custom PCB:

How do I go from my current prototype made with modules to a custom PCB? Should I learn KiCad/Altium and design it myself, or is it better to hire a PCB designer? What would the approximate cost be for a beginner/small startup?

  2. 3D-printed enclosure:

For the outer body/enclosure, how much would a decent-quality 3D-printed enclosure typically cost per unit? Where can I get these manufactured in small quantities (like 10–50 pieces)?

  3. Scaling:

If the prototype works, what is the usual progression from something like 1–5 prototypes → 50 units → 500+ units? At what stage does it make sense to move from 3D printing to injection molding?

  4. Reducing BOM cost:

My current prototype is relatively expensive because I'm buying individual modules/components. How much can the cost realistically come down once the modules are integrated onto a custom PCB and components are purchased in bulk?

I'm based in India, so recommendations for Indian manufacturers/suppliers would be especially helpful.

If anyone has gone through this process before, I'd really appreciate any advice, resources, or mistakes I should avoid.

Thanks!

Padmanabhaswamy Temple darshan time (8:30 AM slot – Friday)

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to visit Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple by the end of this month (Friday), and I’m thinking of going for the 8:30 AM darshan slot.

I wanted to know from people who’ve recently visited:

  • How much time does it usually take for darshan in the 8:30 AM slot?
  • What is the approximate waiting time from entering the queue to completing darshan?
  • Is Friday generally crowded compared to other weekdays?
  • Any tips to reduce waiting time or make the process smoother?

From what I understand, 8:30 AM is one of the main morning slots and can be quite busy , so I just want to plan my day accordingly.

Would really appreciate any recent experiences or suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Solo trip

I'm 18, still in college persuing engineering at banglore and I don't have a job.

I just don't spend money on things I don't really need. I save whatever I can, and whenever I get a few days off from college, I book a ticket and leave.

I've already traveled solo to Munnar, Suryanelli, and Kolukkumalai. This time, it's Kochi, Alleppey, Varkala, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kanyakumari.

I travel because every journey leaves me with stories, memories, and a fresh perspective.

Can't explain how excited I am for this one. Just a few more days to go.
