My friend & I debate the "correct" vs common use of the left lane on the highway

So my friend wants to play by the book and call me out if I'm driving in the left lane on the highway and say I shouldn't stay in the left lane consistently because it's only used for passing, and that you should eventually merge back into the middle of right lane when you're finished passing.

I already understand this.

However, my argument is that even if that is the "correct" and technically lawful way, that if you're already going 80mph in a 70; you are essentially treating it as a "fast lane", and that if someone god forbid wants to go even faster (80+ mph) then I will respectfully merge to the middle lane and let them pass and then go back to the left lane. But I don't find it "wrong" to stay in the left lane as long as you're going fast enough, and also and most importantly: MOST PEOPLE don't follow the "passing only lane" rule anyway, so why go strictly by the book? For context, I've lived in both FL & NC and know people don't follow this rule. I know it doesn't exist in every state, but I've traveled to many other states by car and still people don't follow it regardless. She also thinks that by following the actual rule, that I should be "setting an example for other drivers".

So what do you guys think?

Should I always abide by this rule, or do you also use the left lane as a faster lane, especially if there's very few cars on the highway?

What obscure/unknown products or tools make your life so much simpler?

Has anyone purchased a product, tool or gadget that seems extremely obscure to the masses and helps make your daily life EXTREMELY convenient? Something that someone who might come visit you would be blown away how useful such an item is and never even once thought about it? Maybe something you use around the house, in your car or just carry around with you.

Is it worth getting a union card if my main goal is to work in film?

I currently work at a few unions in NC; one specifically I may get my card at soon is mainly theater work, but is getting a card worth it if I try to eventually transfer it to a union that does film? I know it's not immediate and they don't have to accept my transfer, especially if I don't currently have much experience on a bigger film set. I've heard it's definitely better than no card, but is there anyone that has either done this with or without a card and what exactly did you go through?

Is networking the main thing I should be doing?

Are there places I should go to simply learn more about film?

Do I really need a trade or specific set of skills to be considered?

What trades would you recommend? I'm thinking of learning carpentry.

How do you guys or gals deal with your scoliosis? Specifically lower back pain scoliosis.

I've tried lumbar back rests, back wheels to crack and massage my back, flatter expensive pillows, firm mattress topper (I'm a stomach sleeper), prescription muscle relaxers, back braces, posture correctors, physical therapy, chiropractors, massage therapists and pillows in between my legs and various positions on my back for support and even though some of those things help a little, I still have days where my back would just randomly spasm out and it hurts to bend down so I have to keep my back straight and just bend my knees.

Anybody try anything different that I haven't tried yet?

I will admit, I don't stretch as much as I probably need to; and yes, I know strengthening my core and hip flexors etc etc can help but besides that I'm looking for more pain solutions.

Haven't tried yoga yet, but will try if it can really make a difference.

Do women get physically closer to you if they're interested?

Will a relatively confident woman move closer to you if they think you're attractive or just like your personality? I'm 28m, and at work I've noticed one girl in particular (who I know is very blunt and confident/outgoing) who gets abnormally close to me (borderline touching) even though we've barely talked at work. There would be essentially nothing going on or there'd be no reasonable event that would require her to move so close (i.e. having to move out of the way for someone or something else) but if the opportunity arises like us being in the same department that day or something she will do this. Not crazy often, but like I said when it does happen it's pretty dang close. I've noticed some other women will do this, the exception is probably not as close as touching like the 1st girl, but we'd make eye contact several times and she'd eventually stop talking to a person and move closer to where I'm talking with others and continue to make eye contact again and again. I've also talked with this 2nd girl on occasion and we had a couple laughs & she's around my age as well. I may be overthinking it, but I feel like most women (especially if they're more shy) wouldn't really do this.

Mainly I'm asking if they do this because they want you to talk to them first.
