My personal radio mix. Feedback and any suggestions to improve...?
Been listening to this generated radio style playlist for a couple of months or so now, and interested to get peoples feedback and any suggestions on ways to improve or streamline it. This website is so powerful there's a good change there better ways to go about this!
I have about 5500 songs split up into playlists based on ratings 5 stars down to 1 star. Plus a few other playlists for the songs I'm obsessed with right now, or have been obsessed with in recent months and also my release radar. My basic goal was to rotate round these playlists in a set order, picking the least recently played from each one.
Some of the playlists are filtered by my 2000 most recently played Last.FM songs, others are filtered by a IFTTT generated Spotify playlist of my most recently played songs.
It's a great way of hearing the songs I love often without them playing so much that I get bored of them, throwing in songs I like but don't want to hear all the time plus with the release radar I get new music to spice things up.
Let me know your thoughts ☺️
All Scotland's qualification permutations...
Figured I'd post this here again as it's a great site which shows what results we need from the remaining games (updating live) to help us qualify! Let's hope after tonight we don't need it but still worth a look
It must be illegal to be bad at football in Brazil.
[OC] Ranking 2026 World Cup teams by how many players smile in their Panini sticker portraits
As counted by my 9yo daughter, so the measurement is very precise.
Brazilian fans chanted “Hey, Trump, Go Fuck Yourself” during the American anthem in match between Brazil vs USA
23rd June 1998 - Scotland's last WC match
Some nostalgia for everyone as to what we were all up to the last time Scotland played a world cup match. First of all yours truly was just 2 years old, but I guess there are people on here who remember it well and those who weren't even born.
Music:
Sadly there were plenty of England songs floating about the top 40. Scotland's only representation was Del Amitri clinging on at number 32 with Don't Come Home Too Soon.
Other 'highlights' from the top 40 include Aquas final UK number 1 'Turn Back Time' which had slipped down 10 places to 37. An All Saints double A side which includes the superior version of Under The Bridge. The greatest question ever asked in the history of pop music, "What's she gonna look like with a chimney on her?" from Feel It by The Tamperer and Maya was at 21. Voted as containing the worst lyric of all time by 6 Music, Life by Des'ree was at 15, just behind one of my favourite one hit wonders The Mavericks and Dance The Night Away. And Isreal's winning Eurovision entry Diva by Dana International was new in at 11.
The top 10 looked like this:
The Boy Is Mine by Brandy and Monica
Looking For Love by Karen Ramirez
Carnival de Paris by Dario G
Horny by Moose T Vs Hot N Juicy
Lost in Space by Lighthouse Family
Got The Feelin' by Five
C'est La Vie by B*Witched
Ghetto Superstar by Pras Michel & ODB & Mya
Vindaloo by Fat Lez
3 Lions 98 by Baddiel, Skinner & Lightning Seeds
The less said about the top 2 the better so let's just pretend Pras was number 1.
Movies:
Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan were sat atop the UK Box Office for the first of two weeks with the romantic fantasy City Of Angels, where Nic plays an angel who wants to become human after falling in love with Meg Ryan. It followed on from some other big films topping the box office, including The Wedding Singer, Deep Impact and Scream 2, but that years behemoth was Titanic which had spent 13 weeks of the year so far on top.
TV:
Obviously the world cup dominated the TV schedules this month, but at the start of the month John Leslie had just taken over from Bradly Walsh as host of Wheel of Fortune on ITV, and BBC officialy switched on it's Digital TV signal. Watercolour Challenge debut on Channel 4 and we had the final ever Screen 2 drama on BBC 2. Jason Searle won Stars in their Eyes performing as Neil Diamond.
Video Games:
Big year in gaming which saw the release of the Dreamcast and Game Boy Colour. But if you could prize yourself away from Konami's International Soccer Superstar 98 you might also have been playing Tekken 3, Resident Evil 2 StarCraft, Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit and we were just over a week away from the release of Banjo-Kazooie
Sport:
In Yankee Hand Egg the Denver Broncos became Super Bowl champions beating Green Bay in San Diego.
The winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan saw the debut of Curling with wins for Sweden and Canada in the men's and women's respectively while Kuala Lumpur was gearing up to host the Commonwealth games.
David Coulthard had started on pole in the most recent F1 GP in Canada, Schumacher went on to take the win but it was Häkkinen and his McLaren team who would go on to take both titles that year.
Mark O'Mera had just won the Masters at Augusta and Earth Summit was the Grand National winner.
France Completed the grand slam to win the then 5 Nations Tournament while Pete Samparas was on his way to winning Wimbledon.
And of course in football, with the domestic seasons wrapped up Real Madrid beat Juventus 1-0 to win the Champions League and Inter Milan scored 3 without reply to win the UEFA Cup against Lazio. And domestically Arsenal won the English Farmers league and Celtic were Scottish champions. sound Familiar?
Clearly a TEMU job on my works WC wall chart... At least they got Brazil right!
The arrow wasn't me btw... Sadly the flag nerd in me couldn't find the pen to fix Moroccos flag too... Every other group was fine though!
