Any recommended self-sufficient tanks/tech trees to grind?

In a lot of my matches, I get abandoned by my teammates that were literally fighting alongside me just fine, and I get swarmed immediately. Are there any good tanks i can grind that are plenty mobile enough to get myself out of trouble while being playable in the front line?
